YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - MILWAUKEE — A 56-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of shooting his lawn mower because it wouldn't start. Keith Walendowski has been charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed.

According to the criminal complaint, Walendowski says he was angry because his Lawn Boy wouldn't start Wednesday morning. He told police: "I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want." A woman who lives at Walendowski's house reported the incident. She says he was intoxicated.

BARACK OBAMA THE SCRIPTED MEDIA HOUND

His favorite word when faced with a situation without a planned script is ,"ummm." He stumbles whenever questioned on something in which a prepared statement was not available. He does nothing that is not politically motivated to get the most out of an event or a picture opportunity.

This is the candidate who says he is not like the rest of Washington and brings change. All of the Obama hype about change and difference is proving to be just that, HYPE. If anything he says or any appearance he makes does not provide press coverage or a photo op then this typical liberal politician does not do it.

Additionally he cannot work without either a teleprompter or a script of answers or talking points, which is the real reason he refuses to meet with John McCain for series of Town Hall meetings. He and his handlers realize that Obama, the scripted candidate, would be eaten alive by McCain who handles Town Hall meetings extremely well.

Even his supposed ,"off the cuff," moment during his World Tour was not only scripted but designed to show the Obama ,"humility," (which is as fake as his recent move to the center), and his pious Christianity. During his trip to Jerusalem Barack Obama visited what is known as the wailing wall. The remains of the original temple in Jerusalem that is a holy site where pilgrims gather and place prayers within the walls cracks. Prayers that are supposed to be between the pilgrim and God.

Two days ago it was revealed that Obama's prayer had been snatched by a youth who saw an opportunity for his fifteen minutes of fame and published by Israels second largest paper. Other Israeli publications quickly announced their refusal to publish the,"private," prayer written on Hotel note paper. They along with worldwide media outlets condemned the publication. Yet the Obama campaign was strangely quiet letting the media only stand for the candidate.

This seemed puzzling to me until a news article from the Israeli Insider a daily news magazine published a story telling that not only was the prayer available for publication but that the paper that published it was granted permission BEFORE Obama even arrived at the Hotel in which the note paper was used to write the prayer. Obama played the Israeli press like a master making himself look like a victim while all along using a supposed off the cuff private event to a holy and prayerful place as yet another political publicity stunt.

Within hours after the publication videos appeared on You Tube using the prayer and pictures of Obama in church settings and Amazing Grace as background music. Ending with the Obama campaign logo and his web address.

This partners with his planned visit to wounded soldiers at the military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany. The Pentagon justifiably so requested that Obama not use the hospital for political purposes which is completely understandable considering that brave soldiers are recuperating from wounds received defending this Nation. But they did NOT tell Obama he could not visit the hospital only that the press and cameras were not allowed but he and his staff were welcome to visit.

Using every excuse from making the visit during a campaign trip being inappropriate to blaming the Pentagon's request, Obama not only did not visit the hospital but chose rather to make a very public trip shopping in Germany. Since he could not use these American heroes for a photo op, the scripted candidate decided visiting them was not worth his time or his trouble. He not only insulted the soldiers but showed his true contempt for the military. The right thing to do would have been to visit them just because they deserve the visit from a United States Senator and not concern his political highness with whether he had pictures of the visit or not.

A true Commander in Chief cares for the troops and visits them because they served and NOT for publicity. Obama has once again added to the long list of reasons why this inexperienced scripted media whore does not have the credentials or the sincerity to be Commander in Chief. There are many times that a sitting President visits troops in hospitals and leaves the press behind or dismisses them before entering the rooms of brave Americans who have sacrificed for this Nation.

Obama is actually believing his own hype as he announced yesterday that he is the,"favorite," now to win in November. I guess this arrogant liberal believes that the press, who adore him, speak for the American people yet polls show that not only did this world tour NOT help his campaign but John McCain has actually gained and is either in a statistical tie or in the lead in every poll.

This arrogance has even prompted the DNC to rent Mile High Stadium the home of the Denver Broncos during the Convention in August which seats 75,000 people because when Obama accepts the nomination his campaign and the DNC claim the Convention Center is not large enough to hold the people. Of course they will ship in people from all over the world in order to fill the stadium, but the arrogance is obvious.

Heck they might even allow the homeless of Denver entry to the stadium instead of buying them movie, zoo or museum tickets to get them off the streets, which is their plan so as not to present a bad face before the cameras while the Democrats take over Denver.

Still the polls do not show this scripted liberal politician catching on with the American people. In fact a very important voting block for Democrats, women over forty, favor McCain 42% to Obama's 35%. A very significant number considering that this is a typical Democrat voting block.

Also while Obama leads in many polls taken with registered voters, McCain leads in most polls for likely voters. The difference of course being that likely voters are those who will actually take the time to head to the polls in November and actually vote.

So the Obama hype and media love affair with this liberal scripted, inexperienced, insincere and political animal is not only failing to convince voters that he should be our next President, but it seems that on a nearly daily basis the media, "messiah," is losing more and more credibility with those who understand the danger he presents and the seriousness of who we elect to be the next President if The United States.

BARACK OBAMA'S EUROPEAN LOVE AFFAIR - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

He was seen with heads of State in Germany, France and England. An estimated 100 thousand gathered to listen to his speech in Berlin. He was treated like a celebrity Rock Star wherever he went in Europe. The first United States Presidential candidate to use Europe specifically as a campaign stop.

But where did it get Barack Obama ? Polls here in the good old USA where he is actually RUNNING for President either showed no change or actual gains for Republican John McCain while this unprecedented show by Democrat Barack Obama did absolutely nothing but get the liberal Democrat photo ops that impressed the liberal media but did nothing for the voters!

Yet Europe loved Barack Obama. Why ? Specifically because Barack Obama represents something in a United States Presidential candidate that Europeans love. A candidate who by his actions and his policy will give most Europeans what they have wanted for decades. A weaker United States that is an equal to France, Germany and Great Britain rather than more powerful as The United States has been since World War II.

Europeans saw and heard from Barack Obama during his week long tour of the ,"old world," a Presidential candidate who downplayed American power and talked about a United States that partnered with Europe in all things and with an attitude seeking United Nations and European approval for any action whether militarily or economically that The United States makes under a Barack Obama Presidency.

In his speech in Berlin Barack Obama so downplayed the effect of United States power that he actually revised history giving credit for the end of the Cold War to a total cooperative effort by The United States and Europe. A revisionist comment that completely neglects to remember that other than Britain's Margaret Thatcher ALL of Europe stood in opposition and actually condemned President Ronald Reagan for his strong stance against the Soviet Union.

Europe with the exception of Thatcher considered Reagan a warmonger who was taking the world to the brink of war because he actually stood up to the Soviets rather than bowing to them as had been the policy for years during most of the Cold War. He was condemned by Europe for calling the Soviets an,"evil Empire." He was condemned by Europe for the arms build up that bankrupted the Soviets because they could not financially compete with American power.

Even the British Parliament many times joined the rest of Europe in condemning US policy in direct contrast to the unwavering support of their Prime Minister the,"Iron Lady," Margaret Thatcher.

Obama also praised Germany for its bravery during the early days of the Cold War especially during the Berlin Airlift. While the German's did stand brave against Communism during the airlift, Barack Obama in his praise once again neglected to give full credit to the power behind the airlift. It was the United States military who flew the planes into harms way and a United States President, Harry Truman who defied the Soviets and ordered that airlift. Once again Obama downplayed US power in shaping and protecting post WWII Europe.

Many Europeans have long hated The United States because of our power and our belief that we have a set of values that are part of who we are as Americans in which we understand that we have a moral obligation given to us from generation to generation to be the protectors and hope for freedom and liberty in this world.

American have given their blood in battlefields around the world and especially in Europe standing and fighting for these values of freedom and liberty and in fact have saved Europe in two World Wars from the rampage of takeover by despots who sought to enslave Europe under one dictatorial government. It was not until US power made its presence in both World Wars that Europe was set free from this take over. Yet most of Europe forgets the sacrifice made by Americans to ensure European freedom. In WWI, WWII and yes even the Cold War.

Barack Obama plays to this European anger by talking of a United States that no longer dominates the world in its military power and seeks permission from Europe to act on our own behalf. Bowing to The United Nations and European, "allies," before we protect both our own and yes even their interests as we have done for decades protecting freedom throughout the world.

While it is important for The United States to have good relations with Europe it is not as Obama suggests our responsibility to seek their permission or that of the United Nations before we stand for our own national security or economic development.

Obama's world view, which is why Europe loves him as they do, has a United States that is on an equal footing with every nation both militarily and economically. "Partners," in a world that has Socialism as it creed and The United States no longer the worlds lone Superpower.

There are many Europeans who understand the necessity of a strong United States for the betterment and protection of not only Europe but the rest of the world. But many see The United States as arrogant and needing to be taken down a notch or two and that is what they see Barack Obama doing if elected President. That is why the love affair between Obama and Europeans. That is why they came out in throngs to worship at his liberal Socialist feet.

And that is also why this European rock tour did not play as well at home as Obama had hoped. It is why he actually fell in the polls because Americans are not interested in a candidate who campaigns for European votes but for the Presidency of The United States of America where our Constitution states that," We The People," of The United States vote in this country for our President in assignment of Electoral Votes.

This European tour for political gain in which Barack Obama even refused to visit soldiers wounded in battle because it could not provide for him a photo op as the Pentagon requested that a military hospital not be used for political purposes, a visit that Obama could have made to the soldiers WITHOUT reporters had he truly wanted to visit these brave soldiers. This tour was a failure for Barack Obama.

The American people while understanding the necessity of European allies do not want a President who bows to the United Nations or any foreign nation including those in Europe. Barack Obama in his attempt to look, "Presidential, " proved that he would rather satisfy his love affair with being,"one," with Europe than standing for American power and sovereignty.

He would rather shop than visit troops if it cannot gain some type of political advantage. He would rather downplay Americans place in history and our stand for freedom that has many times been in opposition to many in Europe but has been proven right as that stand brought about the end of The Soviet Union and attempts for Communist expansion both in Europe and throughout the world.

American power and American sacrifice has made the world a safer and better place. Barack Obama would have us yield that power to appease European dissatisfaction with who and what we are as a Nation. That is not an America that voters want nor is Barack Obama , Europe's chosen candidate, the person Americans want as President of The United States.

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - PROVIDENCE, R.I. — State police say they arrested a man early Tuesday whose blood alcohol level was 0.491 percent — the highest ever recorded in Rhode Island for someone who wasn't dead. Stanley Kobierowski was taken to a hospital, put in the detoxification unit and sedated, said Maj. Steven O'Donnell. He was arraigned Tuesday on charges of driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest, and he was released after promising to appear Friday at a court hearing.

"The person's lucky they survived," O'Donnell said. "There's no doubt he would have gotten killed or killed someone if he had continued on the route he was taking." Kobierowski, 34, of North Providence, was arrested after he drove into a highway message board on Interstate 95 in Providence, O'Donnell said.


A breath test showed blood alcohol readings of 0.489 percent, followed by 0.491, O'Donnell said, the highest readings state officials could remember for someone who didn't end up dead. The legal limit in Rhode Island is 0.08. A level of 0.30 is classified as stupor, 0.4 is comatose and 0.5 is considered fatal, according to the health department.

The troops have had great success in securing Iraq. Yet Obama not only continues to bash the policy that brought success but still does not give the men and women who protected his butt while in Iraq credit for a job well done!

YoU CaN't MaKe tHiS StUff Up - GORHAM, MAINE — Mara Ranger will be a little paranoid doing laundry now. When she was removing clothes from the washing machine at her Maine farmhouse Wednesday, the clothes moved.

She told WMTW-TV, "I jumped back" and saw a snake. She quickly shut the lid and called for help. Maine Animal Damage Control operator Richard Burton reached into the machine and pulled and pulled — all 8 feet of a reticulated python. Burton guesses the snake got into Ranger's washing machine through water pipes. The snake's future home will be York Animal Kingdom in York.

What is most telling about the Obama Rock Star tour and the contrast with John McCain's campaign and total lack of news coverage in favor of Obama, is that McCain is either tied or within the margin of error in all the polls in spite of the free hype given Obama. Hmmm maybe the American people actually see through the hype and just don't trust Barack !

BARACK OBAMA STILL AGAINST IRAQ SURGE

Depending on the day, any number of positions on Iraq can be found that have come either directly from Barack Obama or from senior members of his campaign staff.

But as the video above shows his position about the surge and his continual claim that it has not worked has not changed, even after visiting Iraq and seeing with his own eyes the success and major decrease in violence that has taken place BECAUSE of the surge.

Before his photo op trip to Afghanistan, Iraq and now Europe Obama had a preconcieved plan and idea concerning Iraq and nothing he saw nor anything that he was told by Patraeus and other commanders on the ground was going to chnage his plan or his preconcieved ideas about Iraq and what he sees as failure.

Even liberal ABC news in the above news report before the Obama interview admits that the surge has worked and Iraq is on the right track, yet Obama in an unscripted moment stumbles on his own words and does his usual two step to avoid a direct answer. But BEFORE avoiding the question notice that he did slip up and admit that even with the success he does not and will not support the surge.

A Commander In Chief works with his commanders in the field to make the tough decisions necessary in military operations. He also recognizes success on the battlefield and moves in accordance to that success.

Obama has shown by his complete disregard of the success of the surge and utterly ignoring the briefings about that success from the commanders in the field, he not only does NOT have what it takes to be Commander In Chief but if given the opportunity to be CIC he would place his personal political agenda above the advise of his commanders and the safety of the troops and this Nation.

BARACK OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN ADD AGENCY - THE MSM

I have followed politics for my entire adult life. In fact even as an older teen in the early seventies was somewhat of an oddity concerning politics. Not only was I conservative but as a teenager I actually was active in not only following politics but in campaigning for candidates that I was not yet old enough to vote for.

In my more than 30 year track record of following politics, I have NEVER watched such a blatant bias toward any candidate as I am now seeing with the MSM and Barack Obama. In fact this bias can almost be considered a partnership between the liberal candidate and the MSM.

The MSM has always leaned left of center with an extreme bias toward the liberal stance on issues but never have they made such an obvious blatant stand for any single candidate to the point of it looking as if they are a paid member of the Obama campaign.

This trip that Obama is making to Europe is a prime example of the obvious bias to the point of actively campaigning for the liberal Obama as the coverage of his trip is actually far more than a sitting President receives for a similar trip.

President Bush just returned from an overseas trip and not one of the MSM anchors followed him on the trip or even spent much time reporting what was taking place on the trip and Bush is a SITTING President whose trips have actual US policy ramifications.

Yet ABC, NBC and CBS are sending anchors Gibson, Williams and Couric to Europe with Obama to cover the, "Rock Stars," visit with foreign heads of State. Thank God that one head of State Germanys Angela Merkel has stepped forward and put this trip into perspective by being extremely skeptical about Obama making a speech in front of the Brandenburg Gate which is a symbol of the Cold War days and has been reserved for speeches from Heads of State like John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan and not a campaign stump stop which is Obama's purpose.

The hype that the MSM has placed on Obama's trip becomes even more disgusting and a sign of the blatant bias toward the Democrat when one considers that John McCain recently made a similar trip to Iraq, Afghanistan and Europe as a candidate after he had gained the nomination and traveled with ONE reporter and his trip was only mentioned as an after thought by all of the networks during their , "in other political news," segment.

Adding to this is the ridiculous move by the New York Times in their OPED section. Last week Barack Obama wrote an OPED article for the Times which was printed in its entirety without question or editing. The article out lined his position on Iraq and Afghanistan. John McCain submitted and OPED this past Sunday on the same subject out lining his policy.

Not only did the Times reject the article but informed the McCain campaign that they would only accept an article on this subject from him if it out lined a , "plan for victory," which included a ,"timetable," for withdrawal. A policy which is NOT in any plan that McCain has or will put forth because he is against any type of timetable. Yet the Times now sees it their responsibility to dictate policy to the GOP candidate while catering to the Democrat candidate.

With this form of blatant bias toward Obama why does he need to spend another dime for campaign advertising when he receives massive amounts of FREE advertising in coverage from the MSM ? The MSM was not even this biased over a politician when they came out 'en mass against Richard Nixon during the Watergate fiasco.

Yet despite this massive media hype and bias in favor of Obama, he still is either tied with or has a slight lead over McCain and that lead in most polls is well within the margin of error. This also proves one other thing about Obama. The American people still do not trust him enough to back his candidacy even with the excessive media bias.

With the Obama hype that is taking place with the media he should be twenty points ahead of McCain especially since McCain almost can't buy media coverage and his campaign has been relatively quiet in the midst of the Obamamessiahmania.

I was surprised this week when CNN actually broke the story concerning the misinformation that had hit the press over the media lie that Iraq Prime Minister Maliki agreed with Obama's sixteen month withdrawal plan. Stating that Maliki's words, "were misunderstood, mistranslated and not conveyed accurately." Maliki agreed with 16 months as a possibility ONLY if security situations warranted that type of draw down and the situation on the ground was safe enough for the draw down to take place in that time period. Obama calls for a sixteen month withdrawal REGARDLESS of the situation or security.

Again a blatant media bias toward Obama trying to even twist the words of the Iraqi Prime Minister in order to make Obama look like he and only he knows how to handle the issue of Iraq. While the New York Times attempts to dictate to John McCain what his policy should be in order for this liberal rag to cover McCain's plan.

With media bias as ridiculously blatant in favor of Obama as it is now I can already envision the headlines on November 5, 2008 after John McCain wins the Presidency. I'll just give the headline for the New York Times which will cover the reaction by the rest of the biased MSM.
"BARACK OBAMA FIRST BLACK CANDIDATE TO LOSE THE PRESIDENCY" with the subheading for the story being, " McCain President Elect" or "Democrat voters denied access to polls, reason McCain elected." This my friends is our great American media!

BARACK OBAMA - TYPICAL DEMOCRAT CHANGE OF STRIPES BEFORE AN ELECTION - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

He has touted himself as the ,"candidate for change." He claims to be above the usual political fray and different then ,"other," candidates. Yet this liberal Democrat follows in a long line of Democrats who, though claiming to be the party that speaks for the American people, change their stripes in order to gain votes for a General Election.

The only real change that Obama offers comes nearly every day as he changes his position or view on every issue that faces the American people for this election. During the Primaries in order to court the liberal voters who always show up for Democrat Primaries, Obama stood fast to his extremely liberal voting record and leftists views on everything from the war to taxes.

Now that he must court more moderate and even conservative voters for the General Election in November, this candidate of, "change," has moved toward the center on every issue. Not only does this NOT represent ,"change," other than just changing positions, Obama is showing that he is a typical liberal Democrat who like hundreds before him shift to the center in order to get votes.

Just going back a few years examples abound of Democrats who shift in order to pander for votes. In 2000 Al Gore changed most of his usual liberal views in order to get the vote. John Kerry did that same in 2004. But this move to the center does not just involve Presidential candidates.

In 2006 when Democrats won back the House and the Senate it was widely reported that so called, "Blue Dog Democrats," and Democrats who ran a conservative campaign propelled Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid into the leadership of the majority party. Yet as also is typical with Democrats who make this center move, after the election these Zebras who really DO NOT change their stripes govern from the left following their true political views and not those manufactured for the election.

While it is widely known that politics regularly has a deceptive face regardless of political persuasion, the dishonesty of liberal Democrats in order to get elected stands out as one of the most blatant lies politicians ever place before the American voter.

While many of us who support the GOP disagree with several of the Republican candidates and even some of the party platform, at least GOP candidate do NOT change their stripes just to win an election as Democrats do. Yes, there are some issue shifts that like that of John McCain's concerning drilling, change in accordance to the necessity of the time as all politicians must do from time to time to meet the demands of the moment.

But Democrats traditionally make dramatic shifts like Barack Obama has done in recent weeks in order to court voters other than their liberal base. A base that is actually more in line with the real views of most Democrat candidates but whose numbers are not enough to allow these liberal Democrats to win a General Election so candidates move to the center long enough to court votes, then step back to the left once elected.

All the while continually claiming both during an election and even after elected that they and they only represent the views of the majority of the American people. If this were actually the case then why do they see the necessity of changing their liberal stripes in order to get elected ?

The answer for that is simple. This Nation politically speaking if more centrists even center right as a hole and the only way that any Democrat can win is to court those voters who only follow politics as a General Election approaches and in many cases actually have little or no clue as to the real positions of these Democrat stripe changers because they have not followed the run through the Primaries and as such ONLY hear the views of liberals AFTER they have made their centrist move.

Democrats have banked on this uninformed large voter block in every election and have capitalized on it by changing their liberal stripes before most of these voters start paying attention in the final weeks before a General Election.

Barack Obama this year is among the worst at this stripe changing deception as he has changed his views on virtually EVERY issue that is facing voters in this election year. He has the most liberal voting record in The United States Senate but if one compares what he is campaigning on to that record his campaign and his record are almost polar opposites.

If one were to even look at the Obama of the primaries and the Obama of today, that polar shift would be just as obvious and his stripe changing has actually taken place since he defeated Hillary Clinton in June. In the course of less than 30 days Barack Obama has changed his views on nearly EVERY campaign issue and now is in the midst of an obvious campaign trip to Iraq, Afghanistan and Europe to grand stand with ABC, NBC and CBS and his chosen poll of 200 biased reporters to cover the second coming of JFK in Europe and the Obamamessiah pretending to adore the troops.

Unlike his predecessors in the Democrat Party who have shifted to the center in order to deceive the voting public, Obama plays the stripe changing game with far less regard for his liberal base. His shift to the center especially on Iraq has angered many on the left who have raised Obama to liberal rock Star status, yet his arrogance fully allows him to believe that he has this liberal base in the bag for the election and he no longer need court then in favor of pandering to the center.

This may very well backfire on him as nearly every day groups of Democrats opposed to Obama are showing up on news programs and the Internet. Many who claim to have membership in the hundreds of thousands and one I saw on Fox News last week who claim membership in the millions.

While the media still see him as the darling they drool over daily, many within the Democrat Party not only do not like him as the chosen representative for the DNC but are actually considering or already backing John McCain's candidacy.

Democrats have changed their political stripes shifting to the center in every election in the past twenty years, but I have never seen such a backlash of Democrats who have come out against the Democrat nominee as I have with Barack Obama. These large numbers of disgruntled Democrats and his centrist shift that is even being reported by his buddies in the press because of how dramatic the shift is from his far left liberal stances may very well be the undoing of Barack Obama come November.

Police in Las Vegas say they arrested a naked man who stole a beer and then hijacked a bus several miles northeast of the famed gambling Strip. A police spokesman says the man fled from a convenience store when an officer arrived to investigate a report of a shoplifter Tuesday.

The man allegedly punched in a back window of a Citizens Area Transit bus, climbed aboard, forced the driver off, drove the bus about 200 yards and then jumped off the moving vehicle.

A police officer climbed aboard the bus and stopped the vehicle. It was not known if there were passengers aboard the bus at the time of the incident. Police say the man was arrested on felony charges — and given clothes and a mental evaluation.

Flight 1178 was delayed for nearly six hours on Tuesday after a passenger informed a flight attendant that she found a tick in economy class during a flight from Washington, D.C., to Denver.

The airline decided it couldn't fly the plane until it was cleaned of ticks, so passengers had to wait while another plane was flown from Colorado Springs to Denver. The flight was further delayed because of thunderstorms in the Denver area. United spokeswoman Robin Urbanski said between one and three ticks were discovered. Urbanski said the airline hasn't figured out how the ticks got on the plane or what type of ticks were found.

"I don't know if we'll be able to find that out," Urbanski said. "When possible, we do try to look into those type of things, and hopefully try to look for its origin." As he was leaving the store he couldn’t help but feel guilty for what he just did.

So instead of turning around and placing his stolen goods back, an act which would surely avoid any problems for thief, police and shop workers alike, the man thought it would be a good idea to pass a note to a shop assistant, and leave the store with stolen goods in hand.

"Call the police, I’ve just stolen,” the note read, according to a spokesman for the police in the town of Nienburg.When officers called at his address, the man immediately admitted his crime. “You don’t come across criminals like this every day,” the spokesman said. “The man wouldn’t say why he tipped us off.”

BARACK OBAMA'S UNINFORMED PLAN FOR IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN

He has made one trip to Iraq. He has never been to Afghanistan. His military policy decisions are based on a long standing anti-war agenda and advice from everyone EXCEPT active commanders in the field like General David Patraeus.

Yet Barack Obama has now seen fit to make a major policy statement concerning Iraq, Afghanistan and the on going was against terrorism. Appeasing the liberal left calling for a complete pull out from Iraq within 16 months of his perceived election as President regardless of the situation or the adverse effect it would have on the region. Then stating that the, "war," in Afghanistan is one ,"we have to win," as if we are losing and it has been a neglected field of battle.

His comments on Afghanistan are also designed to appease those in the middle who though war weary still understand that we are at war and we are at war for the purpose of victory. My first question abouts Obama's, "policy," is similar to that of GOP nominee John McCain's response to Obama's plan.

How can anyone make any type of plan for Iraq, Afghanistan or anywhere that US forces are engaged without first understanding the situation from first hand experience by visiting the field of battle, and second without informed information from those who are in command and as such have detailed intelligence from the perspective of active military situations ?

His contention that ,"we have to win," in Afghanistan is insinuating that we are losing and that Afghanistan has been neglected because of Iraq, which is an absolute falsehood. Afghanistan has been a theatre that was, "won," long ago. As with any battle theatre there is always a considerable amount of clean up so to speak and Afghanistan is no exception.

The resurgence of activity in Afghanistan is coming from a defeated foe, the Taliban, who understand that what is left of their fighting force has its days numbered and just like an animal who is cornered just before the kill comes out fighting as a last effort for survival.

Yes in order to end this last ditch effort by the defeated Taliban and their Al Qaeda partners it may take an increase in troop strength to bring a final and complete conclusion to the Afghanistan theatre. But to insinuate that we may be losing and that Afghanistan is escalating greatly as Obama is portraying in his policy statement is absurd and uninformed at best.

His contention that we can just, "pull out," of Iraq in 16 months without having massive ramifications especially in light of the tremendous success that has taken place in the last year is a naive and dangerous policy that begs for defeat in the midst of surrender in a theatre that has brought victory and success.

This policy by Obama also follows the continuing Democrat idea that Iraq and Afghanistan are two separate wars and not two theatres of the same war. To portray Iraq and Afghanistan as separate wars would be like saying the European theatre and the Pacific theatre of battle in WWII were actually WWII and WWIII since they both occurred in different geographical areas.

Both theatres of battle, Iraq and Afghanistan have succeeded in destroying terrorist capabilities which has not only made The United States safer but also the rest of the world as terrorist activities worldwide have been almost non-existent except in the two theatres of battle where we have troops defeating this Islamic enemy.

Many on the left will also try and argue that since Iraq's Prime Minister has mentioned a timetable of withdrawal that Obama's idea is more in line with the current situation. But in looking at the negotiation process with the Maliki government the contention about US troop involvement in Iraq is a disagreement over the US idea of five years and the Maliki governments idea of two or three years NOT 16 months as Obama suggests.

Also both the US and Maliki positions are based on security situations in Iraq and NOT just a blanket pull out decision like that of Barack Obama. Maliki is also trying to appease Shiite hardliners like Muqtada Sadr who have long called for the end of all US presence in Iraq regardless of the military or security situation.

In his Iraq/Afghanistan plan Barack Obama is once again showing his complete naive approach to foreign and especially military affairs as well as his massive inexperience with dealing with real situations as opposed to making blanket statements in order to try and get votes and satisfy liberals who back his candidacy.

IRAN A MENACE - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

Iran has been in the news in the past several days as much or more than even Barack Obama. In a Presidential election year with a candidate who is a media darling and promoted by the liberal media as much as Obama is that is saying quite a bit .

Last week Iran test launched nine medium to long range missiles that have been verified while claiming to test launch more in the following days. This saber rattling move by Iran was designed to prove to The United States that if attacked Iran would retaliate.

The world community immediately reacted to this saber rattling by Iran and again the talk of military intervention in the on going Iran nuclear problem and their continued attempts through their radical Islamic regime to become the dominating country in the Middle East.

So the question arises, "is Iran an extreme threat that must be dealt with swiftly and with military measures?" This is the dilemma facing The United States and neighbors of Iran especially Israel who has been repeatedly threatened with extinction by Iran's radical President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Do I believe that Iran is a threat ? Absolutely, but how much of a threat is the key to how and when action must be taken by Iran. After all let's face facts. In a military confrontation with Iran The United States could annihilate Iran many times over without suffering much if any damage in return.

The problem here is that this is NOT the way that we as a Nation handle difficult situations even when an extremely radical regime like that of Iran threatens both us and our allies like Israel. We have historically been a Nation that uses our military as a last resort and only after all diplomatic measure have been exhausted except in the case when we are either attacked first or are coming to the immediate aid of an ally who request our assistance.

The major threat that Iran poses now is the fact that they are developing the capability of nuclear weaponry despite the claim of peaceful purposes only. This in itself actually increases the dilemma faced by The United States and our allies. While Iran would not stand a snow balls chance militarily against The United States, all it takes is ONE nuclear weapon on top of a medium range missile and Tel Aviv, Israel and its population of more than three million is history well BEFORE any defensive action can be taken by Israel or The United States.

This is the main reason why this rogue regime CANNOT be allowed to become nuclear and why this standoff with a rather insignificant country in the grand scheme of world politics. It is obvious that unlike other nuclear nations Iran and its radical regime WILL use nuclear weaponry as quickly as it is available and without hesitation.

Iran has been a thorn in the side of The United States since the late seventies when Jimmy Carter failed to back the Shah of Iran which allowed the rise of the Ayatollahs with Ayatollah Khomeini stepping in after the fall of the Shah. Now don't get me wrong the Shah was not an ideal leader. In fact he was very much a little despot but he was pro West and pro United States.

The Ayatollahs see the West and especially The United States as infidels with the US being the, "great satan," and enemy of all Islamic fanatics. In the last few years the thorn in the side known as Iran has increased its rhetoric and also it move toward becoming nuclear as well as actively threatening Israel and The United States.

They also are a thorn concerning Middle East oil as their country borders the Eastern side of the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf where 40% of all the worlds oil is shipped through to open waters. They have attempted through feeble means with relatively small boats to move against the Strait as well as continually threatening to close it down. A move that will never be allowed and in itself will most likely spark some sort of military action possibly even war.

I am reminded of another petty dictator who saber rattled, sponsored terrorism like Iran and even contributed in a terrorist attack against a civilian airline resulting in the death of all on board. Lybia's Muammar Qaddafi. In the later seventies and eighties Qaddafi was a threatening loud mouth who acted on his words much like Iran's Ahmadinejad.

Diplomatic measures had been tried and tried again to no avail and Qaddafi continued to act like the big man on campus so to speak. That is until President Ronald Reagan decided to shut him up after the downing of the civilian airplane. Reagan ordered strategic bombing of Gaddafi's palaces and some of his military and command and control. Qaddafi not only backed off of his threats but has remained quiet ever since.

Some may say to this approach that Lybia in its attack on the civilian airliner created a situation where military action was, "justified," while Iran has not. To this I respond with Iran's continual proven assistance both in weaponry and man power attacking our soldiers and Iraqi interests in an attempt to continue to stir up sectarian problems in Iraq.

Reagan's solution to Lybia may be the answer to the Iran problem. A strategic attack against all nuclear facilities, Iran's command and control as well as selected military targets with precision bombing. While it may not completely shut Iran up as it did Lybia, it will at least eliminate the threat of nuclear development and calm if not end this menace to the world.

Diplomatic measures alone have not only failed but actually allow Iran to continue on its course uninterrupted. Sanctions have proven as always to be a joke and the naive approach of direct talks as proposed by a certain liberal Democrat Presidential candidate are not only doomed to failure but will give a massive credibility to the radical Iranian regime and Ahmadinejad.

Though a petty dictator and minimal nation on the world stage it only takes one nuclear attack to change the entire Middle Eastern dynamic, fragile as it is, and take that region of the world into all out war. Maybe the Reagan approach offers the best and most effective short term or if like the case of Lybia in 1986, long term solution to the Iran menace.

Police in Dillon, a small town near the North Carolina border, say a 13-year-old with an interest in law enforcement twice stole a police cruiser and took it out to do some patrolling. The boy's mother saw him bring the car home both times but didn't see anything wrong with the joyrides, Police Sgt. Jason Turner said.

The boy, who was charged with larceny and second-degree burglary, was not identified because of his age. He remained in Department of Juvenile Justice custody Wednesday. His mother, Patricia Gillespie, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was released on $5,000 bond. A phone listing for her could not be found. Turner said residents called police Sunday to say they'd seen the boy driving a police car. He said the boy also took the cruiser the previous Sunday and drove it around before returning it to the station. No one noticed it was missing !

Linda Urioste's black Labrador was recently picked up by animal control officers and later adopted by Jutta Hollar and her husband. Hollar learned a couple of weeks later that Urioste had been to the shelter looking for the dog. Hollar says she had considered returning the animal until she met Urioste, who yelled and threatened to sue.

A few days later, the couple realized their cat was missing. Police say Urioste left a phone message with the Hollars saying that she had their cat and was willing to trade it for the dog. Police charged Urioste on Saturday with theft and extortion. She was released from jail on a $6,000 bond.

Police say the emergency brake came loose while the farmer was in the store, and the tractor and its two trailers barreled 30 yards downhill before slamming into the parked car and crushing it against a wall. Police in the western German village of Viersen said Wednesday that the car was a "total loss." The tractor and trailers, however, emerged unscathed.

BARACK OBAMA ON IRAN

Yesterday, Iran test launched nine medium and long range missles with the capability of hitting targets throughout the Middle East including Israel and every post where United States troops are stationed.

Barack Obama's first response to this significant demonstration by Iran was to call on a uniting of the world community in placing economic sanctions against Iran to stop thier development of nuclear and other offensive weapons.

Obama also claims that US policy has not included sanctions. Yet not only has the US backed numerous failed sanctions imposed by the UN but has sanctioned many companies in Iran who have been known to be involved with the development of the Iranian nuclear program and has limited all trade to Iran to that of only food an medicine.

Yet Obama insists that sanctions have not been imposed and that gathering the world community in sanctioning Iran as well as dealing directly in one on one talks will end the madness that has been a trade mark of Iran and its Islamic expansionism goals since the seventies.

Rhetoric and sanctions did not prevent nine missiles from launching yesterday but Obama still insists that this is the only answer.

Additionally as the above video shows which position is the real Obama? The one in which he says that Iran is a small country and poses NO threat to The United States or the one where he claims that Iran poses a , "grave," threat ?

While military action is the last resort John McCain's response of placing a missile shield to protect the Middle East from a rain of Iranian missiles does provide a realistic and protective answer to an attack by Iran short of going to war.

The missile shield has been proven to work and it is also a much more effective stance than Obama's, "let's talk," while Iran continues to advance their nuclear program and weapons development using talks and sanctions as a ploy to continue their programs.

Barack Obama's naive apprach and flip flop stance on Iran is not only yet another sign of his total lack of foreign policy experience but also a dangerous stance for one who wishes to be President of The United States and is charged by the Constitution to protect this nation.

OBAMA'S SHIFT TO THE CENTER A HOAX - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

The great liberal election year hoax has begun. After months of pandering to the left in order to get the nomination and frankly showing the true face of leftists liberalism, Barack Obama is following in the foot steps of Bill Clinton.

Liberals realize after the election successes of Bill Clinton that the only way they have even a slim chance of winning a General Election for the Presidency it becomes necessary to make a dramatic shift to a more center of the road platform in a campaign.

Brack Obama the candidate of, "change," and the candidate who claims to be above the political fray and totally different offering the American people something new in a candidate who again , "claims," not to be, "your normal politician." Obama is making a shift to the center in order to try and gain votes from Moderates and even Conservatives to try and win the Presidency.

For instance the man who has said that all of President Bush's policies are the policy of failure is now talking about , "expanding, " Bush's Faith Based Initiative. Of course this is a blatant ploy to try and pander to the Evangelical vote. He states that though expanding on Bush's initiative he will make changes to it for the better, according to Obama.

Naturally when a liberal states he will make any program better it will involve some sort of government control, meaning that the Faith Based Initiative will require churches and other faith based groups to report to the government in order to participate in Obama's program.

Obama has also been moving to the center in his approach to patriotism. Earlier in the year he stated that he would NEVER wear an American Flag lapel pin because he believed it had become a symbol of the Iraq war. Now where ever he appears on his left lapel you will find an American Flag pin. He spoke several times last week about patriotism which has never been even a portion of any speech in his past.

But now that he is trying to pander to the Centrists for the election suddenly patriotism and favorable talk about the military which he has disdained in the past, has become a mainstay in his speeches.

While still somewhat steering away from talk of drilling to help ease the energy crisis, the thought of drilling has begun to make its way into his rhetoric. Again, the polls from those in the center of the political spectrum show high numbers and Obama shifts his policy to match the center and the polling.

Obama is even shifting gears to the center on Iraq. A few weeks back when challenged by John McCain to make a trip to Iraq because it has been more than two years since his last trip, Obama treated the challenge with little or no interest. Now not only is he making a trip to Iraq but this continual cut and run liberal is stating that after the visit he may , "refine," his position about Iraq and his so called promise to pull out immediately.

Always an advocate against National Security surveillance programs, now in order to play to the center Obama now supports broader authority for surveillance. Always one to take the liberal stance against the Second Amendment right to bear arms, after the Supreme Courts decision to overturn the Washington DC gun ban, Obama suddenly favors the decision and the right to bear arms. Again a dramatic shift to the center to pander for votes.

He is also honing his views to the center on the death penalty and abortion. Once again pandering to the center for the General Election. Bill Clinton played this game and won in 1992. The difference this year is that Clinton while liberal was not anywhere near as liberal as Barack Obama so Clinton's move to the center in order to prepare for the General Election was not a dramatic shift.

For Obama just the opposite is true. Obama is the most liberal Senator in the US Senate whose voting record and his policy statements are more Marxists/Socialist than Centrist. So this shift to the Center is a very dramatic change of pace for liberal Barack Obama. His very liberal stance on the war, entitlements, taxes and energy have been embraced with glee by the left. Now with Obama's shift to pander for votes he is not only angering the left but showing that he has no core or principles.

This hoax being perpetrated by Barack Obama will continue until just before the Convention when he knows he has to show his true and real liberal self in order to make the delegates who will vote for him in Denver happy. Then after the Convention he will shift back to the center for the General Election.

In reality Barack Obama is lying to the public to get the votes he needs to be elected President. He is proving he is not only a man without principles or credibility but also a pandering politician who will do and say anything to get elected!
