PELOSI'S DAYS ARE NUMBERED
Stumbling, bumbling and defensive. This describes the press conference held by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi concerning the continuing drama as to when she new and how much she new about Enhanced Interrogation Techniques.
Acting like a nervous defendent who knew they had been caught as the evidence was presented, Pelosi contradicted her own words as she tried to spin her innocence once again in the knowledge of waterboarding and other EIT's that were being used by the CIA as a means of gathering intelligence from captured Al Qaeda terrorists.
She has continually claimed she knew nothing. Then after a CIA memo appeared revealing that she was personally briefed in 2002, Pelosi claimed that a staffer was briefed and that she was only informed of the briefing. Adding the ultimate lie and insult, Pelosi then accuses the CIA of misleading Congress which now has turned the inferno surrounding her into a firestorm.
Lying to Congress is a federal crime and now Pelosi has placed the CIA in the position of defending this false accusation. Officials have already been in contact with the media informing them that Pelosi's statement was false. Bill O'Reilly mentioned this contact on his show and that the CIA denied misleading Congress and that Pelosi was full briefed.
She has now started a war with the CIA and rest assured that the Agency will now release detailed information about Pelosi's briefings as well as push for her personal records of those same briefings. This is a battle that Pelosi cannot win, especially in light of her actions in the May 14 press conference which increases pressure that she is lying about both her knowledge of EIT's and the briefings.
Pelosi's days are numbered as Speaker of the House. Many in her own party are shaking their heads after her press conference accusations and some including Joe Lieberman have come forward and stated for the record that the CIA does not mislead when briefing Congress.
Rather than becoming an avenue to attack Republicans and the Bush administration, which was the true intent when the original memos were released by Obama, this has now become a major problem for Democrats and Obama and will evenually be the downfall of Nancy Pelosi.

Obama really kicked an ant hill with his ill-advised and politically motivated release of Bush Administration memos regarding EITs- I’m sure he already regrets it.
Let’s have a hearing and get it all out there, shall we? Then watch the rats scatter who attacked Bush for protecting the country from terrorist attack… but who clearly knew what was going on five years before we heard a peep out of them

Whatever you say about Pelosi let's give her credit: she works hard to earn our contempt. Now she has lied about what the CIA told her, and she has slandered the proessionals who work in the intelligence community.
I agree with you about Pelosi and the need to hold her accountable. She is going to need a good lawyer. It is arrogant for her to think she can just lie her way out of trouble. That's how sociopaths think.
Ms. Pelosi lied about what she knew and when she knew it and then has compounded her problems by falsly accusing the CIA of a crime. To think that she is in line for the office of President, should something happen to the President and Vice President, is without a doubt, alarming. She can't be trusted by her own party much less the Republicans and the Independants. She needs to be removed from office, now, before she does even worse damage. Is it any wonder that California is in the kind of shape that it is with people like Pelosi working for them?
I saw an interview with her while Bush was still in office when Rachel Maddow asked her about the briefing. She said she had signed some dpcument and couldn't discuss it with anyone, which is why impeachment was off the table. I believe she did know, but was not able to tell anyone. And if they presented it as they did to us, that they were getting 'useful information" she probably wasn't too upset.
However, now that we KNOW that the reason for the torture was just to make someone connect the dots between 9-11 and Iraq, and that they did not get any information about future attacks, it looks like the CIA and Cheney are the liars here. Every expert says that torture does not work. Every expert knows how to interrogate and get answers within the law, and these guys were talking until Bush ordered them drowned.
And if you think he kept you safe, remember that 9-11 happened on Bush's watch, and that he was warned about it in August and ignored it (or worse, wanted an attack so he could justify invading a sovereign nation that had no problem with us.) Tell me who the real criminals are here.
Pelosi is being used as a scapegoat to make the GOP look innocent. We know who was in charge during this debacle. Ultimately the focus should be on the White House and the clowns in congress who were actually helping pour the buckets of water at that time...the GOP silly. Newt is behaving in his usual inappropriate style. Dear Newty Figgy, the real culprits who belong in shackles and chains are no longer in charge. Get it?

Sorry about not being around more, Ken. I'm doing a bit better today, but I'm not going to be running around the internet as much as usual. As for Pelosi, everyone who actually hasn't nullified their reasoning power with drugs knows Pelosi is lying. I'm just waiting to see if Obama will throw her under the bus. At least she'll really belong there.

Furthermore it is the CIA's very pentacle of power to mislead and lie. It is in fact the very thing that the CIA in known for using as a WEAPON. It is also common knowledge that the CIA was created, and deliberately structured to have to answer to anyone, that's it's whole reason to exist... to lie and mislead, and gather information. It is commonly known that the CIA is structured in a way that not only allows it to lie to Americans, citzens or politicos, but that it should lie, it is supposed to lie by it;s very nature....you are a dupe.
so to say that accusing them of lying is unfair or wrong is by it's very nature rediculous to begin with, that's what they were created to do, and I thought everybody knew that.
Yes, we all know that Pelosi was responsible for torture. Republicans were not...Hmmm. That was a Bush-Cheney policy, implemented. The GOP is just trying to get the very negative attention of them all. Yes release all the memos and see if she was told not to say a thing about it by the CIA. Not the most trustworthy of individuals. What hypocrites! The party of hate and No is fast becoming irrelevant. Why aren't the media asking which republicans knew and went along with it...
One good thing has come from the GOP wanting to blame the whole mess on Nancy.
At least they admitted that torture did happen and it was wrong.
