OBAMA ANGERS MANY AMERICANS

I am not usually one who posts letters or e-mails that are sent to me, not because I do not agree or support what they express but because I have always thought that this site was for political or current events commentary and opinion and as such best expressed by postings that are written for those specific purposes.

But the following e-mail forwarded to me from Gayle at Gayle's Cyber Space expressed the polarizing affect that Barack Obama is having on Americans. Unlike Presidents before him who have those who dislike them and those who like them with a large number in the middle, Obama has polarized the country into two factions. Those who still believe he is the, "messiah," and the come all and end all for everyone. Or those whose frustration at what he is doing is so great that they cannot stand the man.

This e-mail is a letter sent to Obama from Kathleen Lyday, an elementary school teacher in Hillsboro, Missouri. The source of the letter is easily verifiable by a Google search of her name and is a legitimate letter that expresses with great detail the frustration and anger that Obama is creating in Americans and the number of those who are angered is growing as the truth about this previously unknown entity is now showing who he is and what he had planned and is doing to our country.

Without further description here is the letter sent to Obama from Ms. Lyday:

April 17, 2009
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington , DC 20500

Mr. Obama:

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally. You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America . You are responsible to the citizens of the United States . You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth.

I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe ? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century?

Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States ? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?

Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia . You don’t show Great Britain , our best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia .. How dare you, sir! How dare you! You can’t find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation because you don’t want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque in Turkey .

You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from themselves. What’s the matter with you? I am convinced that you and the members of your administration have the historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you.

You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it. What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members – on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves?

I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven’t said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn’t! Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million – not a bad take.

Who authorized that and why haven’t you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now. I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.

I think that Ms. Lyday has expressed what many of us are experiencing as Americans as a result of the actions of Barack Obama.

Thanks, Ken.

I had planned on posting this one this morning but changed my mind when I heard something yesterday evening that got my blood boiling!

I think Ms. Lyday did a wonderful job of expressing how so many Americans are feeling right now and have felt for quite some time. I'd like to congratulate her, but it's nearly impossible to get ahold of a teacher during school hours and she didn't leave a personal phone number, which was smart of her. Can you imagine the nutjob calls she would be getting?

I agree Gayle. She expressed very well how a great number of Americans are feeling.

As far as the phone numbers, I intentionally did not post the numbers that were with the e-mail because I did not want her to get phone calls she did not deserve or want.

My post about Obama and SCOTUS was linked at the Huffington Post as well as CNN and from either of those sites there is no telling what type of calles she would get!

Ms. Lyday is entitled to her opinion and I encourage her to express herself. That said, Obama's approval numbers are sky high and she is clearly in the minority.

As the economy continues to improve through the rest of the year, his approval numbers will stay high and even more Americans will support him.

It is a great letter. I posted it today myself and got the usual moronic lib responses that attack and do not address the facts.

How deliciously ironic to see a featured letter that expounds about Obama's responsibilities to put the interests of USA first on a blog flying a banner that proudly proclaims "I stand with Israel!"

Ms. Lydal misrepresents herself as as 4th grade school teacher. She is not a teacher in the District.

No, the teacher being given credit did not write the letter. I called the school to verify it. Still nothing on snopes. Google her name.

According to the Missouri School District, Mrs. Lydal holds the title of Professional Development Chairperson, not 4th grade school teacher. But a person of this name does exist within the District. I have not confirmed whether she wrote this letter.

After quite a lot of further digging, it now appears this letter was actually written by one Franklin T. Bell of Columbia, MD.

My guess would be that Mrs. Lyday (misspelled in my previous post as Lydal) forwarded the letter to people she knows, and her email client automatically tacked on her signature, including professional information, after the "Every real American", thus resulting in mis-attribution of the letter to her.

Again, have not yet asked for confirmation from Mrs. Lyday but I'll now include the mention of the possible original author when I do. If mis-attribution is indeed the case, how unfortunate for the Missouri School District now having to waste time and money dealing with all of this political crap instead of spending it teaching kids.

I'm now also waiting on confirmation/denial from Mr. Bell as to whether he is the original author of this letter.

The economic news this week wasn't good. Unemployment increased again, consumer spending declined in April, there's renewed concern about inflation and the market rally stalled. The economy will eventually recover in spite of Obama's policies. But the recovery will likely be short lived and will not be robust as it would have been without Obama's reckless spending. Those who trumpet an economic recovery are celebrating prematurely. Anger over Obama's policies will grow and his positive poll numbers will fade away. This is a fantastic letter.

Whether or not Ms Lyday is the author or a Mr Bell, the author of this letter pretty much speaks for me as well. We're suppose to love our enemy, but I don't have to like anyone of them. I can't look at Obama without getting angry and hurt as an American Citizen.

I am a Catholic Christian and no one needs to make apologies for me or mine. We are not arrogant people, but proud middle class Americans who love our country and want to see her saved from a certain future of disgrace and destruction by this current administration.

There was a day being Democrat really meant something, especially to the Catholic American; thank God I changed back to being a Republican - which at best - still leaves a lot to be desired in some ways.

At least the Republican party didn't demean and degrade us to the rest of the world that we continue to support regardless of their hatred and arrogance towards us.

(Of course not everyone falls under this blanket title, but enough of the world does)

People wanted a change, well they got it, including the unfortunate Catholic population who have been blinded by Obama's charisma. Which is what??? I'm still waiting...

I'm embarrased by those so-called Catholics and Christians who felt Obama would give us something better than what we supposedly didn't have.

Unfortunately, they left their morals and virtues, their intellects as well as their American decency outside the voting booth on election day.

BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO for this letter.

I hope it makes it to the Oval office, more than once

Since there is more than one "A" on this comment blog, I'm TX. I'm not a native, but I admire President Bush in all that he did and attempted to do during his administration.

Someday more Americans will see what a great leader George W. was and still is. I know he's praying for this country's survival - it must wound him deeply to see how much more damage has been heaped since Obama took office...

Simply for the record, I just received confirmation this morning that my theory regarding Mrs. Lyday's mis-attribution was correct. She did not author the letter, but her automated signature from her email is in fact the cause of mis-attribution. Still no confirmation from Mr. Bell who seems to actually be the original author, but I'm leaning towards it being his.
