OBAMA'S INTERNATIONAL CRISIS TEST - NORTH KOREA

“It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator President of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.” JOE BIDEN

The above quote was made on the campaign trail to a group of donors and supporters by then VP candidate Joe Biden as a way of calling for patience when a ,"generated crisis," occurred during the first six months of an Obama administration. Biden went on to tell the supporters that at first it would seem that Obama would not know what he is doing, but that he would eventually get it right.

Biden is well known as a blow hard and one whose mouth runs faster than his brain, but this statement that was supposed to be private and made its way into the media did cause a momentary stir concerning the inexperience of Barack Obama and the fact that an enemy would find a way to test Obama's resolve as President.

Could we be in the beginning scenario of that test predicted by Biden during the campaign with the situation that is quickly developing with North Korea ? Kim Jong Il the little despot who dictates North Korea has long been a thug whose exploits have been an aggravation to the world but in reality no more than idle threats that momentarily garnered the little weenie a few headlines and maybe a food concession here and there.

But since Obama has become President, Il's momentary threats have become more serious and his actions which are usually spread out over a long period of time are escalating. In fact since January 20 of this year, North Korea has launched nearly half a dozen missiles including one that has the capability of hitting Alaska, Hawaii and the West Coast of The United States. He has also detonated in a under ground test a nuclear weapon with the strength of the bomb dropped on Nagasaki ending WWII.

Again Kim Jong Il has been a blow hard who has bullied the United Nations for years into getting concessions and to date most of his actions have been taken in context with his little despot attitude. But those action have increased greatly since Obama took office and now he is threatening to end the Armistice agreement which has been in place since 1953 that ended the Korean War.

This action is following a plan spearheaded by The United States to inspect ships inbound to North Korea for WMD's. The South Korean government is a willing participant with these actions. Additionally reports are stating that North Korea is preparing further missile launches from locations along the Western Coast of the country.

The questions must be asked, are these escalated action by North Korea taking place because of sensing a weakness in the American President ? Could North Korea be the ,"generated international crisis," that Biden spoke of that is designed to test the, "mettle," of Barack Obama ?

Thus far Obama's response to the situation has been high sounding words and calls for more useless United Nations sanctions and warnings. Kim Jung Il has never taken the UN seriously which is understandable since it is a weak and corrupt organization who actually favors despots like him in other areas of the world. The UN is totally useless yet this is the group that Obama stated before his election and has shown since taking office that in any world situation he plans on leaning and depending on to deal with any world situation.

In the past North Korea has used it military capabilities to threaten and an angered and weak response has been the norm because of the realization that Kim Jong Il was a thug who loved to make threats but did not carry them out. Also his threats have been minimal in the past and spread sometimes more than a year or two between threats.

The number of actions taken this year and the threat of ending the Armistice and attacking the South seems to mark a change in policy with North Korea with the only real change that has taken place on the world stage this year being Barack Obama becoming President of The United States. Which lends itself to the conclusion that Kin Jung Il sees in him a weak President who will not make a stand against North Korean action.

Obama's,"let's get along," rhetoric and his recent apology tours of Europe and Central America in which he apologized for US, "arrogance," has shown enemies that the new policy under Obama is displaying a weakness that can be exploited. This combined with the shift from dealing with terrorism as an act of war back to the failed policy of treating terrorists as criminals and their actions as criminal offenses sends a strong message of weakness.

Kim Jung Il, though a petty despot has been around long enough to sense this weakness and could very possibly be trying to take advantage of it by generating a crisis to test Obama and see what and how much he can get away with up to and including starting a war with South Korea in which the Russians are expressing concern that the situation could likely become nuclear. Let us hope that Biden's warning was just a typical load of Biden Bull and that North Korea is not shaping into becoming the threat that Biden spoke of.

It's sad to think that Obama will ignore or gloss over the danger of the threat posed by a nuclear North Korea or Iran just because he doesn't want to make waves.

We saw the danger of that kind of policy with Clinton who ignored the mounting terror threat.

Only this time, we're talking NUKES!
