In a move that was obviously made because the out cry against it was so vocal and so strong, Barack Obama has scrapped a plan that would require Veterans to carry private health care in order to reimburse the VA for the cost of service related injuries including those sustained in active combat situations.

Fox News reports that the plan has been scrapped because the opposition from Veterans and Veteran groups who stated that Obama's plan was morally wrong because of a sacred obligation that our Nation has always held to take care of wounded American heroes who have sacrificed so much for this country. Finally a single dose of sanity from an insane administration hell bent on the destruction of our country!

Vigilance is called for... this plan could very well resurface as an amendment to a fast tracked bill.

I understand that Obama refused to listen to these groups as they espoused the MORAL duty of the USA to provide our vets with medical care. He kept turning the subject back to the money saved by doing so. I wouldnt expect obama to understnad anything AMerican, like our standing force, because hes never been a memeber and IS, by this very action, ANTI-AMERICAN. everyone with common sense can see this and did see this why cant anyone else see it.

I agree with Old soldier. They got through universal health care under the radar. who's to say they won't do this to the vets down the road anyway.

You just made that up or your quoting another idiot that did. The conservative truth here does not match up to reality or actually truth. You are totally misrepresenting the entire story and have spun it into something completly different that the reality. Some of you know better and are just lieing, most are just "Conservatives" and really do not know any better.

There was never any plan, anywhere, at any time, that would require vets to pay for anything! The right lies and this is another example of them using the military for thier own poltical gains. Reasearch the issue outside the right wing bubble.

Anonymous number two who is drinking the liberal kool aid. The plan existed and was confirmed by the VA Sec.

"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance."

Also the commander of the American Legion stated after a meeting with Obama that when he brought up the moral obligation, Obama refused to listen and steered the conversation back to the savings it would bring to the VA.

Get your head out of the sand and wake up to what your man in Wahington is up to!

Wow, just so so bad. And Anon, yes they were planning to make those who fought for this country get their own insurance...because they need to cut some "fat" from the budget in order to pay for good hiring leftist ACORN to corrupt the numbers our Republic is based upon.

I told you what Obama's actual proposal was intended for. It really doesn't bother me that you don't believe me or that you didn't understand it (or both).

Here is a basic fact that doesn't comport with your whole argument - Obama proposed the largest increase in VA funding in history. His 2010 proposed funding was much higher than what VA and vet groups were pushing for. That is just a plain, simple fact.

If you actually believe Obama was proposing what you say he was proposing, then you have no respect or understanding of his political skill. If he was as dumb as you seem to think he was, he wouldn't have beaten Hillary in the Dem primaries and he wouldn't be President.

Making up ridiculous, fictitious proposals that Obama supposedly was pushing is an utter waste of time. That is why Republicans are getting trounced over and over.

"A political blunder that made the Obama administration seem like a penny-pincher on veterans health care could end up solidifying support for the new president and his staff from some military and veterans groups.

Although the groups are not at all pleased that the administration toyed with the idea of billing veterans’ private insurance companies for treatment of service-connected conditions, the fact that President Barack Obama and his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, met with the groups, listened to their concerns and ultimately dropped the idea appears to have won them some respect."

What, what, he never was thinking about it? Hmmm. You are wrong and Obama should be shamed for even THINKING about this.
