JOHN MCCAIN ITS TIME TO TAKE THE GLOVES OFF - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY
The General Election is less than one month away. The polls though scewed show Barack Obama with a lead and gaining ground if the polls are to be believed. Frankly the only truly accurate poll is the one that takes place on election day as voters enter and exit the polling booth bringing the final results of any election.
Elections are about two things, issues and winning. To date though an American hero who is hailed as a fighter in the political arena known as the United States Senate, John McCain has NOT been a fighter, at least one who fights to win at this point in the Presidential election. In the Primaries McCain did not have a hard fight because candidates dropped like flies and McCain was the only one left with a chance.
Since the primaries, McCain has been in the arena but not at the center fighting with every arsenal available to win this election. Being a bipartisan is well and good on the Senate floor or in trying to pass legislation in order to get the votes necessary to get a bill through Congress, but on the campaign trail partisanship is not only needed but necessary.
While McCain wants and needs to court the Independent and moderate voters, he is NOT going to do this without taking the gloves off and showing these voters why Barack Obama is bad for this country. While hitting themes like ending earmarks and supporting the surge because it was right and is winning the war, having this as the main thrust of his campaign is NOT going to win this election.
During the last two weeks as the country was focused on the mortgage collapse and the bailout bill McCain became a Senator only instead of a Senator running for President. Suspending his campaign may or may not have been a good idea but he failed to use his true actions in getting the Republicans to the negotiating table as a plus in WHY he went to Washington.
While McCain was quietly in the back ground during most of this debacle over the bailout bill, Obama was hammering economics and placing blame on every GOP member of Congress and The White House while taking credit for changes he claims he forced in the bill. McCain came out against Wall Street and let the true blame for this debacle get by without one mention. He never went after the Democrats who time and again stalled or blocked any reform of Fannie and Freddie.
Never did he mention his efforts especially in co-sponsoring legislation three years ago to get a handle on the fuse for this financial powder keg, Freddie and Fannie. In fact had it not been for Sarah Palin his campaign would not have made even the slightest mention of McCain's attempts to stop this before it happened.
Touting the direction that a candidate wants to take the country is great but in the midst of talking policy and ideas that same candidate MUST hit hard against the opposition and tell the American people why the opposition should NOT be elected.
McCain has refused to hit Obama on his associations which are especially in this campaign a very legitimate question about his character. Sarah Palin started attacking Obama about his association with Bill Ayers on Saturday which is the first time other than talk radio and a few mentions on cable news that this particular association that the American people deserve to know has been mentioned.
Until the Vice President debate last Friday the McCain campaign has been reluctant to paint the truth about the tax and spend economic plan of Barack Obama. Sarah Palin did this during the debate and it had a positive affect for the campaign.
The American people want and need to see the policy differences between the two campaigns but they also in that same light need to hear the character differences and the radical liberalism of the record of Obama and nearly as liberal record of his VP. For the rest of the campaign the bipartisan approach must fade and McCain must hammer Obama about his socialist policies and his character. A debate, I might add that has been avoided and must be broached so that America can see the real Obama and not the manufactured one for the cameras.
Governor Palin has obviously taken off the gloves and that will help a great deal in the campaign but unless McCain follows suit and especially in the next debates with a tough hard hitting fighting campaign against Barack Obama, Palin's efforts will fall short because America must see this from McCain more than Palin.
Obama has a considerable amount of vulnerability in this election. His inexperience, his almost invisible record, his very liberal stance on all issues, not the manufactured middle of the road stance that Democrats always show just before an election to get votes. His lack of foreign policy credibility even suggested in a letter from the former Ambassador to The United States for Great Britain as a warning to Prime Minister Gordon Brown before Obama's trip to England during the summer.
While the Ambassador has been removed from his post it was not for the truth in the warning but because with the revelation of the letter is had the appearance of looking as if the Brits were getting into American politics, which they do not want to do and rightfully so. But the warning by the Ambassador is real and justified about Barack Obama.
Obama's association are not only questionable but revealing about someone wanting to be President. John McCain's character is unquestionable and this difference alone is enough for the American people to reject the liberal Democrat as our President. It is time for McCain to hammer this fact and the other Obama vulnerabilities until they ring from the mountain tops.
There are some who are suggesting that the McCain camp believes that the last 72 hours before the election are the key and they are waiting until that time to hit and hit hard. If McCain waits until then Obama will be the next President. The time to hit and hit hard is now and everyday until November 4. The time to take of the gloves is now and never put them back on again. The time to fight for true principles and the American people is now and fight hard and strong until victory is achieved.

I hope you also start to question Mrs. Palin (& her husband's) membership/association with the Alaska Independence Party, an organized political party that advocates separation from the rest of these great United States. How can we have a national leader who doesn't even want their own state to be part of our great union? I understand that your blog is conservative but what could be more conservative than full love and support for our union (all 50 states of it)?
I love America, right or wrong, and I do not want my state to separate from it, nor do I want any leader who thinks their state should.
God bless America (all of it).
I agree with the above comments whole-heartedly. If this is the kind of tactics Senator McCain's campaign is going to rely on, i.e. smear tactics, you have shown what kind of people you are. Truly desperate, I'd say, the tactics of losers. I am not affiliated to any party. I vote for the person I deem best to serve and they are not the people you advocate. My God! What depths you stoop to.
Ken:
you past history as a practicing homosexual are obviously clouding your judgment. And your ties to organized crime and terrorists clearly make anything you have to say suspect. And, of course, you well-known association with members of the KKK indicate your hatred for African-Americans. You see how easy it is to simply change the dialogue, or as in Sarah Palin's debate tactic, to ignore the facts, distort the truth or outright lie, all the time avoiding the real topics of interest and concern. In retail they call it "bait and switch", in magic it's "misdirection". Whatever the case, it won't work. People see McCain for what he is, a tired, cynical angry old man who believes he is entitled to be president because he was a POW and is angry that this upstart black man is going to take the job away. It's a new day Ken, back to people who think and understand. The school yard bullies like you have seen their day and we are no done with you.
You have got to be kidding - lies - the Republicans have been full of it. Honesty - why isn't S Palin confronting the suspicions that have plagued her from her Alaskan adminitration. Associations - Keating 5 & campaign lobbyists. And the most closely guarded secret - Admiral's son - songbird. Obama's associations have been out in the open for months, have been treated with candor - something that is lacking in all of the above "potential" abuses. Lying repeatedly does not make it true!
Truly, if you want your comment to be taking seriously you really need to get a pair, pick a name, and get yourself a blog where all your "intellect" can be put to good use. Sarcasm intended just in case it went over your head.
*taken*
Is that a desperate campaign Mc Cain and Sarah Palin is offering to America,, can't we have better than that, it's not going to work at all, instead it will blemish your heroism at least keep this safe and public will respect you from that.
I have a "pair" Jennifer. It's Obama and Biden, the only pair that are fit, intelligent and honest enough to run this country. But don't fret, I'm sure Sarah would welcome you to Mooseville when she goes back there after the election. You betcha (wink)
Associations with terrorists? / Let's review >>> Bush and Bandar sittin’ in a tree / K-I-S-S-I-N-G / First came the money: a drunkard’s heaven. / Then came the jets on 911
amen to this article!!
If Bill Ayers is a terrorist, then the Republican administration is guilty of providing asylum to a terrorist. The fact is, the charges against him personally were dropped, he's a professor and he happens to have been on the same CHARITY board as Obama. Palin insinuating that this has something to do with Obama's character is absurd.
Her refusal to answer questions (yes even at the debate), her perky (scripted) outbursts and that annoying wink - I honestly don't see what ANYONE sees in her. Don't get me started on the "maverick" thing. As if proclaiming yourself a maverick, a rebel within your own party, is the only way your party can survive the reputation it has created in the past 8 years.
The whole Republican campaign is about deception, because the truth is they've brought our once great nation to it's knees recently. The bailout was another (successful!) scare tactic from Bush. We just gave Wall Street a $700 billion award for being incompetent in managing their own affairs once deregulated (thanks McCain). Once again the little guy is footing the bill for big business, and it's a drop in the bucket that won't prevent the looming credit default swaps collapse (another example of Wall Street's fragile incompetence).
But hey, you should re-elect a Republican, because "the other guy" allows reformed people to help out with a charity. Get a grip, and try restoring your party's dignity with a little class. I'm not holding my breath...
I will abide by your wishes, Ken, and ignore the liberal babble above my comment. There will probably be more if it to come below this comment. You certainly do understand the libs! LOL!
Congratulations on being picked up by CBS. Sorry about the side-effects. :)
Since our posts are very similar, you and I are definitely on the same wavelength. Good post!
The GOP are up to their same old tired, childish tricks. Well, we've got some news for you...it won't work this time - infact, it will backfire. Palin has not earned our respect and she is certainly not making any new friends. McCain is losing friends and is losing them quickly.
Palin's pastor is an anti-Semite, her husband was a member of a very un-American political party, she's not cooperating in her own ethics investigation for abusing her authority...McCain has the Keating 5 association. The GOP are fools for playing their slander card. Even though it's the only thing they have because they certainly cannot win on the issues and they know this - it will not work this time around.
Palin is an ignorant side-show clown...McCain is a desperate old man and both of them have stooped to new lows for the sake of winnning.
Sorry. Game over. It's time for REAL men to clean up this mess....
OBAMA/BIDEN '08
All you have to do is look at fact checking sites and you will see that there are MANY more lies being told about Obama than of McCain. After being caught in many lies and exposed in various media venues for those lies, the McCain campaign seamingly backed off on them for a time. It appears that they are starting the misinformation and distraction campaign again now.
The following are good sites (replace spaces with periods)
www factcheck org
www politifact org
www snopes com
also you can check policies at each candidates sites by looking under issues.
www batackobama com
www johnmccain com
and last but not least, you can check background and voting records of each candidate (other than Sarah Palin) at the senate site
www senate gov
You can check facts on Palin specifically (she was not in the sneate) at:
dailysource org/palin
Regardless of your vote. It is a travesty to allow our politics to be based on smear campaigns. This is about the future of our country and it is sick that some consider that "winning" justiffies any means to get there.

sorry for the mis-spelling....

just sayin....
A lot of people who wanted to become Independent of BOTH parties ended up being connected to this party by mistake because of the way the voter registration forms were written. You are a liar if you say Palin wanted Alaska to become separated from the United States of America. If you would research the TRUTH instead of just posting Obama supporter LIES you would know that one of the things that Palin did was campaign on defending Alaska's constituion and actions to become part of the USA fifty years ago. Palin actually had as guests at her searing in as Gov. the living members of Alaska who accomplished that feat. So stop spreading LIES and do your HOMEWORK because it is ill-informed and LIARS like you who make this country weak.
John McCain is rediculously mean spirited. And, he is stupid if he thinks that the American public will reject Obama based on the smear campaign that McCain favors. Maybe McCain should reflect a bit about his involvemnent in the KEATING FIVE!
Good Lord, McCain takes every good thing that Obama does and takes credit for it, or incorporates it into his campaign as if it were his idea. Then, he takes his own lies and bad relationships, reflecting them onto Obama.
I think that McCain gets his jaded view of Obama by living in the shame of his own conscience.
Now, about Sarah Palin? Do you wonder why McCain STILL won't let her speak for herself? Well, sweet Sarah, you are being treated by McCain the same way those "easy" girls of high school were treated in his day by the "popular boys"...you are being used and then pushed to the floor of the car if their friends might see you.
Sarah, wise up. You are being prostituted. How degrading is this whole thing???
This is the reason why the Republican party with McCain and Palin will not win in November! If you want to talk about shady backgrounds, lets bring up Sarah Palin's past and the fact she's only a token in this campaign for the Republicans to try and win. Oh yeah, let's talk about McCain's first wife and the many affairs. If want to go on and run a smear campaign, lets also include how he left this first wife after she became disfigured in a car wreck, the same woman he ran around and cheated on with many other women, including the one he's married to now Cindy. What about his SNL mess, McCain was involved in?? Or the fact that McCain was the reason Martin Luther King birthday was not a holiday in Arizona. I guess it's wasn't enough black folks living in Arizona. People are really fed up and tired of hearing negative smear campaigns. We want to hear what will the next President team will do to resolve the current economic crisis, high gas prices, health care, free trade, immigration and education. All the things that matter not, about an association with a person (who's now a Professor), at fund raiser! LETS TALK ABOUT THE ISSUE and STOP RACISTS BLOGGING such as this post.

Telling the TRUTH about Hanoi Jane, Weatherman founder Ayers, Obama's Communist Party mentor teacher from his college, the pastor who has preached hatred of white Americans for twenty years with the Obams's cheering him on, his wife's statements about being ashamed of America, his lack of accomplishments...that is NOT mudslinging, it is the FACTS and they need to be said. The Obama supporters are desperatly trying to paint the truth about Obama as nothing more than mudslinging but all you have to do is go to the Internet and look up the Weathermen to see who these radicals are that are supporting Obama. All of the people who have a HISTORY of trying to destroy this country and have repeatedly sided with the communist and the enemies of the USA are ALL supporting Obama. That's not mudslinging, it's the TRUTH and we need more of the TRUTH not the "selling of Obama as President" when he is nothing more than a puppet of these radicals who for DECADES have fought to destroy this country from within.
God Bless the USA - and God help us if Obama becomes president. I probably won't be around to say "I told you so" as the terrorists will have over run the country and I will probably have to move to Mexico to get a job.
After decades of observing U.S. Presidential elections it has become crystal clear to me that the Republican Party is the party of elitist hatemongers who are blindly supported for the most part by ignorant self-deluded egomaniacs.
The outrageous lies, misleading half-truths, slander, ..the "mudslinging", that I've witnessed the Republicans foment is appalling to say the very least.
99% of the negative statements regarding Barack Obama that the Republicans fervently have used to discredit him are either purposeful distortions which omit key facts, outright lies told to an audience of liars (Rallys/Fox News),
or (what should be now considered treasonous given the desperate state the entire world is in!) Scare tactics, ie; Terrorism.
Conservative Republicans are the shame of America, the other parties, they are their unwilling and, all to often, unwitting victims.
An (always) Undecided Independent
I hope McCain does go after NObama and his character. His political associations and political mentors make your eyes pop out. Of course, its easy to see where his socialist outlook was cultivated. Furthermore, McCain needs to attack NObama and the other foolish Dems who ushered in this financial crisis by nixing all mortgage requirements so anyone (no job, no income, etc) could get a loan so the greedy Democratic contributors at Freddie/Fannie could line their pockets with hundreds of millions. And what did the Dems say when they held hearings on the Freddie/Fannie, that they were well-run companies and that the Republicans were on a witch hunt. And look what happened.
As for NObama whining (yet again!) that the American people want to talk about issues and not his character and that this is "swift boat" politics, then ask yourself: are Americans more interested in NObama's character and associates or how many houses McCain has or whether he uses email? Hmmm...are those the issues that NObama thinks that Americans want to talk about?
I believe in American's ability to see that we need a leader now more than ever. Especially in the swing states. I believe in the intelligence of voters in Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Colorado. Say NO to McCain. NO - we will not be distracted and deceived. NO - you will not win this election on lies. We deserve better. I will believe in my fellow Americans all the way to November 4, 2008.
I was the first post on this list about the AIP. I'm glad a few of you cons came out so strongly against it b/c I knew it wasn't completely true. Just like Palin's ridiculous claims about Obama's associations with terrorists aren't true. I posted it to make a point. Stretching the truth about such things is a distraction for both parties. Vote on the issues, people, no matter what your party affiliation is. Don't be distracted by either side's b.s. during this last month. Don't let the extremist crackpots ruin yet another election. Turn off your TVs & don't click on that political story link. Make up your own minds!

TALK IS CHEAP ... CHECK OBAMA'S RECORD !!!
A candidate's track record, and associations are always a legitimate issue when running for President. Let's take a look at the qualifications, judgement, and experience of Obama, who is running for President. Obama had 25 years to fulfill the potential he displayed as a rising start at Harvard Law School ... and, how did he live up to that potential? ... He chose to align himself with anti-American racist, Jeremiah Wright for TWENTY YEARS ... along with Ferrahkan, Rezko, Ayers, and others. As a community organizer, he registered thousands of voters in Chicago ... then, when he ran for the state legislature, he took away their votes, by disqualifying his opponent (a black woman) on a technicality. As a U.S. Senator, he voted present 160 times ... he never called a meeting on the Afghanistan committee he chaired (although he NOW says we must shift all our military from Iraq to Afghanistan). He claimed Foreign Policy experience from a 9 day whirlwind photo op to 6 countries. And, he spent almost half of his tenure neglecting his responsibilities as a U.S. Senator, so he could run for President. Senator McCain served America honorably for 22 years in the military. He proved his love for America, as well as his honor, integrity and character, by refusing early release as a P.O.W., even while being tortured. He served America as a 'contributing' U.S. Senator, working across the aisle, for 20 years. If Obama's Twentyfive year track record shows he lacks judgement, and can't be trusted, who cares what he says about Health Care and the Economy! What Obama never learned is Character. He simply can't be trusted ... ask Jeremiah Wright, a friend of 20 years, who Obama betrayed for personal ambition ... and, you Obama supporters really think he won't betray you If he gets elected??? If he gets elected, you Obama supporters will be facing a HUGE disillusionment !!!
i was going to vote republican, but i think this is the final straw. Obama obviously does not have ties to terrorists. to claim so is to consciously distort the truth. What would Jesus think, Palin?
The McCain campaign claims that the "palling with terrorists" charge is a "true fact". How does this compare with the numerous "false facts" that the campaign has charged in the past? The fact-check gurus are quickly demonstrating that this is a false fact as well...
Americans aren't stupid. Let's stick to the vital issues, folks, or we are going down, way, way, down. Let's respond to the charges about our health care policy, or can we? Each day I am more and more discouraged with the party of Lincoln.
"...I will not engage in an argument with those on the fringe who choose to articulate with angry insults and ridiculous accusations..."
Sounds like something Barack Obama should say to McCain and Palin.
"I also encourage those of you who view this site to ignore these insults as the idiocy that they truly are and engage in the normal intelligent discourse..."
You've hit the nail on the head! You should be an Obama speech writer.
I used to vote Republican and many friends of mine are what I consider healthy conservatives. Healthy conservatism is actually a good thing - conserve what is good about this country, like our constitution. But in the last 8 years, I now detest this republican party to the point that it threatens the stability of our great country. Republicans all, it is time to take a good hard look in the mirror. Most of what is left of your extremist right wing cult is caustic to our country. It is poisonous, cynical, narrsisist, which is everthing al queda had hoped for. You played right into their hand, you fools!
McCain's childish smear tactics and Palin's dangerous lack of Political knowledge are exactly why both sides of our traditionally Republican families will be voting for Obama this election. McCain is consistently loosing points in the polls recently and is desperate now. Lets not forget that McCain has ties to the mob and his wife who was addicted to pain killers stole from her own charity, McCain's ties are by far scarier...just look them up. This is exactly why we and many other Republican families are jumping ship, McCain and Palin are just not fit to run this country as they've consistently shown. And we don't want our kids to die in one of McCain's wars, no thanks.
McPalin is an embarrassment
IF THOSE LYING DOG REPUBLICANS WANT TO BRING UP THAT AYES GARBAGE...THE OBAMA BETTER BRING OUT THE TRUTH ABOUT SARAH PALIN, HER HUSBAND AND THE ALASKA INDEPENDENCE PARTY...THEY ARE SESONISTS...HER PREACHER SO HATEFUL OF AMERICA HE SAYS IN A STATEMENT HE DOESN'T EVEN WANT HIS BONES BURRIED THEIR!!!!!!11MORE ANTI AMERICAN THAN WRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WAIT HER PREACHER IS A WITCH HUNTER...START SMEARING..POLITICS JUST AIN'T CLEAN!!!!!!
Would someone who knows the true facts PLEASE share them about McCain's wife and whether she stole from a charity to support a Rx drug addiction? If that is true, the McCain campaign should not ever say anything about any candidate's spouse.
A campaign to be proud of, dignity and real christian behavior.
That witch Palin was overheard calling Obama the "N" word after the
debate with Biden backstage at her post-debate rally Thursday.....How
sick and desparate can McCain be to have this poor woman express
anything for him to lose in the end anyway!!! OUTRAGE!!!
You liberals are sad, sick, brainwashed, full of hatetred, sheep who simply have no moral compass to guide you, no sence of right and wrong, no ear for the truth, no eye for the illusion and no substantial grasp of reality. Therefore you follow the lead of the leftwing media propanadist, who get their funding, talking points and marching orders from George Soros. You cannot think for yourselves and only take the road of least resistance, which is no personal responsibility, accountability or consequense for your sins. You may temporarily gain ground on this secular earth, but you will face a judgement, the likes of which you cannot imagine, for your support of murder of unborn children, denouncement of God, hatred for His people and contempt for the nation of Isreal. You have nothing to fear but God.
NOT THIS TIME JOHN MCSHAME AND SARAH SHORTCAKE.
NO MORE LIES. WE NEED MORE AND WE WANT MORE.
OBAMA/BIDEN
Obama is a Racist and a radical. And possibly the anti christ SMEAR my foot his friends say things Like GOD DAM america . Are you nuts?
It is past time for McCain to stand up and show why he is the most qualified candidate to lead America. Since the media is so in the tank for obama, its time for McCain to let the electorate know what kind of racist, marxist, socialist, fraud that obama is.
It has been apparent for a long time that the leftist liberal media will do any (sleazy) thing they have to in order to get obama elected. It is ridiculous how they are calling anyone that refuses to vote for obama a racist. It seems to be the media and obama that is always playing the race card. As a lifelong democrat, I will never vote for obama, and may never vote democrat again. The primaries were the most corrupt and despicable of any that I have ever participated in. Anyone with any intelligence could see that the electorate was not a part of the decision process. In the end the party fat cats decided the nominee. In fact they were blatant with their corrupt and lock step selection of obama, showing total disrespect to those voters who make up over half of the party. By their actions, the party has made the decision that the voter does not matter, and that only what the leadership decides is what matters. In my opinion, the reason the corrupt democratic leadership chose obama is because of his history of espousing to socialism and marxism. They ignored his anti-American / radical associations and racist ideology, The party leadership believe obama’s inexperience makes him the perfect figurehead to foster their socialist agenda, as they believe he will be their perfect puppet. As a result of these actions, the democrat party has lost millions of moderate to conservative democrats that will refuse to vote for the inexperienced and communist/marxist, racist obama. If the liberals with their lackeys in the press believe that playing the race card over and over is going to make a difference then it continues to display just how far outside of the mainstream electorate that they truly are. In fact, I believe the socialist press would like to see America fall if it meant getting the fraud obama elected. It is a pretty sad commentary on our elitist press when one has to go outside of the mainstream to find the truth. In summation, millions of patriotic democrats don’t give a damn if you call them racist, in fact you can consider me a racist if that is all it will take to stop the obama led socialist, communist from taking over the people’s government. I will never vote for a closet racist, socialist, marxist, fraud. I will vote for country over party every time. McCain/Palin represents the morals and ideology that are closer to my values, come Nov. expect this ex-democrat patriot to vote for American values, not the radical, racist, socialist, marxist, fraud obama. Furthermore, let the liberals and blacks not forget that the RAGE card, like the RACIST card, can go both ways, do what they feel they must do, true white Americans will be here waiting, don’t think for one minute that threats of violence will change our morals, ideology or values. Afterall, it was our forefathers who conquered this country, and we aren't the minority just yet.

JohnnyLaw - you have fallen for the stereo-typical description espoused by your own, uninformed kind (whatever it may be). Did you notice that the word "Democrat" was not included in the statement you referenced? There are good and bad Democrats and there are good and bad Republicans. The term used in the statement was "liberals." You just automatically assume that someone who will describe a liberal for what they really are, must be Republican. Liberals are the racists, liberals are the elitists, liberals are the haters, liberals are the ones who subscribe to "if it feels good, do it" without regards for morality, consequence or thought for anyone but themselves. Liberals are also the ones who vote "present" because they are too afraid to go out on a limb to stand for anything substantive. Liberals are fighting for Socialism/Communism which has failed everywhere it has been tried. Yet like lambs being led to the slaughter, liberal rats will follow their pied piper to the very end.
LOL - the flower children type liberals you refer to haven't been around for decades, And I thought this thread was about the upcoming election (i.e. Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin). Silly me.
Liberals are racist? WTF are you talking about?
Liberals have no morality? Explain the morals behind giving the rich tax cuts and big business tax exemptions for taking their businesses to foreign countries.
Then you make it sound like the conservative base regularly goes out on a limb and are the harbingers of change? ARE YOU FOR REAL?!? You live in a fantasy, do some research for the love of God.
Wow, Ken you surely have drawn them in! Congrats on your post being picked up by CBS! My comment above was before you wrote your note, so I'll be good now! Keep plugging away!
Ken, I have patiently read all the (so far)48 comments above, and the thing that really sticks out like a sore thumb to me is the many accusations that McCain and Palin are telling lies. Yet not one of the comments can name any specific lies they have told.
Not one lie? Not one quotation? Not one shred of evidence that anybody from the McCain/Palin ticket has lied? About anything?
Here is my thoughts on McCain/Palin lies:
It would seem to me that if there were any lies to reference, these Liberal Obamorons would be able to quote them.
On the other hand, Obama's and Biden's lies are well documented and legion.
>>"If liberals at the top get their wishes, America will become a weak third world country"
LOL. Yeah - and you guys are doing so well with the economy right now. Try comparing it to where we were when Clinton left office. We actually had a surplus at that time, which Dubya managed to spend in just one year. Now we have a $330 billion deficit. Not sure how you do math - but in my book that would tend to show how well the economy fares under a Republican regime. Talk all you want - the facts don't lie.
Great Post Ken,
Congrat's on getting picked up and linked with CBS :-)
I have been writing McCain for week's telling him he needs to go on the attack and turn Sarah Palin loose.
And what do ya know it started at the event I went too :-)
It's about time!
So if the deficit is a concern to Liberals, how is it that Obama proposes three trillion dollars in new spending under his administration?
The economic problems we face can find blame on both sides of the isle and have roots going back to Jimmy Carter, including initiatives by Bill Clinton. Take a look at the record on what has transpired with "affordable housing" initiatives and how liberal democrats like Barney Frank, just a few short years ago trumpeted that we do not need reform in this area and that things were on solid ground. Chris Dodd and Barrack Obama were the top two recipients of contributions by Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. John McCain's warnings were ignored.
Liberal Democrats have controlled Congress for the last 2 years and have done to fix the problems. Right after they took the majority in both the Houses and Senate, gas prices started to increase.
But you know what, our discussion will do nothing to change anyone's mind, nor will it have any impact on the outcome of this election. Those inclined to hate will hate, those inclined to lie will lie, those inclined to follow their false profit to the ends of the earth will find their reward there.
Correction - "trillion dollar spending plan" and "false prophet" though I do like the play on words with "false profit" LOL.
great post Ken, will be back to read later when more time on hand....
Lol...pass me the popcorn.
Congratulations, Ken.
Love the hate coming out of the woodworks.
Only have time for a couple of things...
I have a "pair" Jennifer. It's Obama and Biden, the only pair that are fit, intelligent and honest enough to run this country.
A couple of nuts, alright. Good for you. Scratch 'em all you want.
johnnylaw wrote: If Bill Ayers is a terrorist, then the Republican administration is guilty of providing asylum to a terrorist. The fact is, the charges against him personally were dropped, he's a professor and he happens to have been on the same CHARITY board as Obama.
And has admitted to his terrorist activities.
Palin insinuating that this has something to do with Obama's character is absurd.
The insinuation is in Obama's judgment on who he chooses to associate with, and why he has tried to hide/falsify his associations.
. Yeah - and you guys are doing so well with the economy right now. Try comparing it to where we were when Clinton left office.
Democrats are as much to blame for the current crisis as Repubs, bub. Nice how Obama, second only to Chris Dodd, got paid off by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac execs; in the short time in the U.S. Senate, how'd he manage to top Senator Dodd?
And Clinton had spending programs under control because a Republican held Congress controlled the purse strings. In contrast, what has the do-nothing 110th Congress under Pelosi's "leadership" accomplished, other than the lowest approval rating in history?
>>"So if the deficit is a concern to Liberals, how is it that Obama proposes three trillion dollars in new spending under his administration?"
Because his plan calls for reallocating funds from other areas genius. His plan would actually cost less if you bother to actually look it over. But once again the Republican spin doctors fail to mention "the other half of the story".
But I do agree that neither you or myself will change our point of view, but thankfully we have more and more folks figuring out things for themselves this time around (can you say Ohio?). See ya at the polls
P.S. - Whoever wins - lets hope things get better. ;)
Cheers
But while the media loves its Obama I am far from convinced that the latest polling is correct.
As we close in on the real poll in November, when the prospects of the Republicans and Democrats will be close, “subjective reality” will be given its knockout punch by objective reality, and the electorate will choose wisely.
Once the voters enter the secrecy of the ballot box, at that moment they will express, unhindered by the fashionably designed momentum of media and the like, their “secret longings.” Moreover, in my opinion the latter will favor McCain for his mature solid leadership and experience …
How many of the polls reflect the opinions of those voters serving our country in the Military all over the world. Those brave men and women on the front lines have a voice in this election too, but I don't think the pollsters have factored in their opinions.
Let's hope so, Anon. Also, 95% of African-Americans support Obama according to the polls, but how many of them will actually vote? We have to factor that in, too.

I'm not going to read all these comments. Good grief! :)
Ken, we are again on the same track. I posted the same video day before yesterday and placed it up top again today, because the day I posted it most people didn't see it because I had a post above it. It really does a good job of explaining how we got to where we are and I'm glad you've posted it too!
Palin abused power in trooper case.
Wise choice for VP, she already has a record of abuse.
One chance in three that McCain will pass away due to age while in office.
But then of course you imbeciles voted for Bush. The Iraq war: Abortion after the fact.
For those who vote just on the abortion issue. It is not an issue. It is the law for which no one likes including Democrats but abortion is just a symptom of another problem. Law or no law, people WILL get abortions. If it is a big problem for you then instead of voting in lying Republicans in office, who can not or will not change the law. You should fix the problem yourselves and start adopting these unwanted kids. Oh yeah, you don't want them either. So you /we are also part of the problem.
You have a choice here: War or No War. Let's see you flag wavers volunteer your kids to die in an unjust war. Yeah, abortion after the fact.
This blog does a great injustice to all conservatives.
You all need to refrain from making sophomoric insults and stop picking fights just for the sake of fighting.
Doing so only alienates you further and further from the center ..a huge block of voters.
If you wish to present yourself as a conservative republican representing conservative republican values shouldn't you behave in a way that benefits and brings honor to your cause?
(Lol!) I cannot help but wonder if this blog is in actuality a covert attempt by the Obama-Biden campaign to drive more potential votes their way??
If not, HOW then does a blog such as this help you win ANY election?
Heed this well: A great many Americans always vote for what they percieve to be the lesser of two evils, irregardless of how they are registered,
and the widespread and vile negativity fomented by most conservatives is utterly destroying any chance at all of their winning this election.
An (always) Undecided Independent
..who's sick of it all!
