BARACK OBAMA STILL CAN'T GET HIS FACTS STRAIGHT
There have been many reports about Obama not being able to get his facts straight. For instance stating that he had traveled all, "57 states." Or that his father had helped in the liberation of Auschwitz, even though history shows that the Soviet Army liberated the death camp.
Well in an attempt to try and show that he to was considering military service Obama has had yet another in a long line of not being able to get his facts straight. Whether this came from feeling the pressure of the outstanding military service of John McCain or just an attempt to try and take some of the military issue off the table, Obama stated on ABC's, "This Week," with George Stephanopoulos that he considered entering the military because it was an , "ennobling and, you know, honourable option. "
That is all well and good but it is another sentence in the interview where he gets his facts twisted, "I had to sign up for Selective Service when I graduated from high school. " Obama then tells that he graduated from High School in 1979.
The Vietnam draft ended in 1973. For an additional almost two years young men were required to sign up for Selective Service until that to was ended on March 25, 1975 and not reinstated until July 2, 1980 one year AFTER Obama graduated from High School.
For a guy who is lifted up by many on the left as the messiah, he sure has a lot of trouble getting his facts straight and telling the truth.

Rob, his grandfather liberated Buchenwald yet Obama could not get the facts straight and said Auschwitz/ No one is using the Holocaust just pointing out that the guy can't get his facts straight.
He even had the time line of his birth and his parents protests way off.
Also signing up for Selective Service was not in effect from March 25, 1972 until Carter reistated it on July 2, 1980. A full year after Obama graduated. Once agains cannot get his facts straight.
That is the point here. The guy wants to be President but cannot get the most simple facts straight yet wants a job where facts and details are one of the most important aspects of the decision making process of a President.
So his grandfather liberated another concentration camp - big deal. The fact is that his grandfather marched in Patton's army and liberated a concentration camp.
Are you suggesting that he did not sign up for Selective Service? All males between the ages of 18-25 have to sign up by law. He was 18-19 years old on July 2, 1980 so he would have had to sign up for Selective Service. I just don't see what factual mistake you are claiming he made.
I have no idea what his parents' protests have to do with anything, but more directly to your point, I don't know what birth/protest timeline you are talking about.
I watched the full video of the "57 states" comment. It is pretty obvious he meant to say "47 states." I really think these are nitpicky things that don't amount to anything.
McCain has made errors about whether Iran is Sunni or Shiite, he has made errors about whether Iran supports al Qaeda (they don't). He incorrectly referred to the Czech Republic as Czechoslavakia. Here are a couple of videos with his gaffes:

He accidentally called himself "liberal"
Al Qaeda is being trained in Iran. They aren't and LIEberman had to correct him.
I chalk these up to honest mistakes. It shouldn't be surprising that human beings who are campaigning 15 hours a day sometimes make a mistake. If you want to say that they should always be perfect, then I hope you will at least be principled enough to point out McCain's similar gaffes and hold them against him also.
I will be honest and say outright that Obama is a liar. What did Rob miss about there being no selective service until one year after Obama graduated from high school? Yet Obama said he had to join it. That's not a case of not getting your facts straight. The man lied, pure and simple.

Gayle, by Ken's own dates and what you yourself just wront, Obama was 18 or 19 years old when Selective Service was reinstated. Under Selective Service all males between 18-25 have to register.
IT WAS REINSTATED WHILE HE WAS IN THE REQUIRED SELECTIVE SERVICE RANGE.

IN the interview Rob he stated that he signed up right after he graduated. Not saying he lied about signing up but once again just cannot get his facts straight!
Very nitpicky. The quote you put in the post was: "I had to sign up for Selective Service when I graduated from high school."
First of all, if you actually quoted him correctly in your post, I don't see that he said "right after he graduated."
But second, in the year right after he graduated from high school he signed up for Selective Service. Calling him a liar on this is absolutely ridiculous.

Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961.
On July 2, 1980, President Jimmy Carter signed Proclamation 4771, Registration Under the Military Selective Service Act, retroactively re-establishing the Selective Service registration requirement for all 18-26 year old male citizens born on or after January 1, 1960.
The first registrations after Proclamation 4771 took place on Monday, July 21, 1980, for those men born in January, February and March 1960 at U.S. Post Offices. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays were reserved for men born in the later quarters of the year, and registration for men born in 1961 began the following week.

After all, given the clear opposition to actions aimed at protecting kindergarten children from sex predators and McCain’s desire to return to our original Constitution ( Jim Crow, no vote for women etc) we should all vote for the McCain-Palin ticket so we can get back to the good old days when we didn’t have to put up with uppity rabble rousers.
