POPE BENEDICT CALLS GLOBAL WARMING SCARE MONGERING
Pope Benedict issued a statement in reaction to the Climate Change Conference taking place in Bali, scolding the Global Warming crowd for using the issue to substitute ideology and money for the truth in science fact about Global Warming.
Stating that we all need to be mindful of the environment, but not to the point where caring for animals and plants was given priority over mankind, the Pontiff warned that any, " solutions to global warming must be based on firm evidence and not on dubious ideology. "
Benedict went on to suggest that fears over man made emissions melting the ice caps and causing a wave of unprecedented disasters were nothing more than scare-mongering. His remarks reveal that while the Pope acknowledges that problems may be associated with climate change, he believes the case against global warming to be over-hyped.
This statement by Benedict adds to the mounting evidence that man made Global Warming is not only highly exaggerated but that the true scientific evidence points more toward the Earth experiencing a natural climatological cycle that is caused by the sun and other natural factors that the Planet has experienced before.
That plus the evidence that several other planets including Mars and Jupiter's moon of Titan are experiencing the same climate changes help to confirm the case that the Earth is in the process of a natural cycle and not a dramatic danger caused by man and our economic and technological progress.
Though not a Catholic myself, to the remarks by Pope Benedict I add simply this......."way to go Pope!"

Actually the Pope said no such thing as the Daily Mail reported. I suggest reading what the Pope actually has to say at http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/messages/peace/documents/hf_ben-xvi_mes_20071208_xli-world-day-peace_en.html which bears little relation to the Daily Mail's fabrications.
I thought I heard something about this Ken,
You said it best:
"Way To Go Pope"
No doubt Global warming is very contraversal. Soon, one company will have a product that can help turn things around. Are you familiar with the ground floor movement to take solar to the masses by a company called Citizenre? They are trying market solar with an approach similar to satellite TV, cellular telephones, and alarm systems. That is to provide the customer a complete solar system with no upfront charges and make money from a service contract. In this case the service contract would be a rent agreement. They intend to put a complete solar system on clients home. When the system produces electricity, it will lower the bill from the current utility provider. In most cases the savings from the lower bill will more than cover the rent fee that the company intends to charge. The company currently has no product available but intends to deploy in the middle of 2008. They are currently taking reservations and have over 26,000 takers so far. I have written several articles on this company in my blog and even have a couple of videos that I have recorded at www.solarjoules.com. Feel free to take a look. I welcome comments. As in any start up business, a chance exists that they may never get off the ground and fulfill any preorders, but if this is the case - the potential client has not lost anything. If you cannot afford the upfront cost of solar today, this may turn out to be a great alternative.
This solution would mean that we could produce at least a little less pollution and would be a great step.

The problem is that people don't pay much attention to traditional authority figures anymore--whether it's the Pope or business leaders like me.
They'd rather listen to reporters and scientists.
But believe me, those of us in the fossil fuel community are preaching the same gospel as the Pope on this one: don't worry! Our smokestacks aren't nearly as dangerous as the world's scientists.
