TRUTH IN ADVERTISING
As I was searching the web I found a very interesting billboard displayed at the Drudge Report. This billboard is being sponsored by GrassFire. org,( of which I recieve e-mail updates from time to time), and will be displayed across the nation as funds allow. GrassFire has been a advocate of closing the borders and strict enforcement of United States laws regarding illegal aliens and this newest promotion is a way that each of us can participate in expressing our rights as citizens to our elected officials as well as those who have entered our country illegally. Click on the title if you would like to participate in helping to sponsor one or more of these billboards. The donation is $25.00 per square foot and you can sponsor as much or a little as you can afford. A $15.00 donation will get a yard sign replica of the billboard for your home. There are many ways to join the fight for securing our borders. Contacting our respective representatives is yet another way that we the people can express our thoughts and feelings concerning this important issue. Many of the advocates of illegal aliens are actually claiming that this is a takeover of the south western states and certain leaders in the movement are advocating setting up a separate country consisting of New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, California and southern Colorado. This situation must be addressed and the huge influx of aliens stopped or their dreams of conquest can take place if only by sheer numbers. Their goal is to gain access to voting and by using elected officials who are supportive of illegals forcing the government by the vote of these legislators bringing about their conquest of the south west. The unfortunate aspect of this is that if the problem in not addressed with strict enforcement and securing of our borders their goal is a distinct possibility. Congress must get serious and stop pandering to the aliens. Border security is as simple as legislation that orders the closing of the borders and then sending the troops whether active military or National Guard to enforce the law. Every state on the border and the governors of those states has within their executive power to close their borders. Since the federal government has chosen to ignore the people then we must put the pressure on our state governments to act! Now is the time to move to stop the massive influx in its tracks!

As I am a member of Grassfire I'm really glad you posted on this. It's very important! We must close our borders, although it's getting pretty late in the day. Sort of like closing the barn door after the horses have excaped.
But late is, I suppose, better than never!
AS A FELLOW MEMBER i AGRE. nOW IS THE TIME TO ACT!!!

You want to blame illegals for crossing the border and getting jobs? If Americans were not hiring illegals they would not come - plain and simple. The reason we have not closed the border is that the business lobby and corporations want to have access to cheap labor.
As I have stated in the past, I am not for amnesty and we need to secure the borders, but let's also get real, the overwhelming majority of the illegals have jobs. This means that everyone from individual Americans who hire illegals to cut their lawns to large corporations who hire thousands of illegals in agriculture and construction are contributing to the problem.
If there were no jobs, they wouldn't come. Until Bush and the Republican Congress address the American accomplices (individuals and companies) to such blatant disregard for American law and national security, nothing will change.
I agree Rob that those who hire must be dealt with but the first step to control this debacle is to secure the borders. A dam cannot stop water when its full of holes and the border is a hole without a dam. Lets face it both parties are to blame for the problem. When the Dems were the majority they to did nothing. Both parties are pandering to the illegal alien lobbies and both are afraid of offending the Latino vote. Yet the Latino leadership that represent those who are legally here think as we do and are disgusted with the illegal situation.
CIR deputy - great sarcasm about the "workers!" I too am baffled as to why the states have not acted, especially New Mexico, Calif. and Arizona that are straining because of the huge numbers that are illegally crossing their borders!

I'll split the difference--
Employers want to complete the job or contract and are looking for labor to both meet the cost structure and meet the time structure. They have decided to turn a blind eye on legality and focus on staying in business and making money. The problem folks is much bigger. The buyer needs to decide if they are willing to pay a little more to get a guarantee of legal labor or simply settle for cheap and fast.
If you posted a sign on your business and letterhead that says "We only supply verified legal labor to make our quality product", I would be willing to bet the Average American would step up to buy an honest product.
Ablur, why not just hold employers responsible for hiring illegals? The problem with your solution is that it invites fraud. Who is going to verify that companies are not lying?
CIR Deputy, what the Hell are you talking about? How is securing our borders, not giving amnesty to illegals, and holding employers responsible for hiring illegals "dumb?" Please explain to me how upholding employment and citizenship laws is in any way analogous to not prosecuting drug dealers.
You must have misread or misunderstood something I wrote.
This site is one of the best I have ever seen, wish I had one like this.
