STAR TREK MOVIE HAS EARLY PREMIER FOR TROOPS
I have been a Star Trek fan since the original series aired in 1966. I have all ten of the movies on DVD and am still a fan of the original series with Kirk, Spock , McCoy and the USS Enterprise whose five year mission began a bold trek that created a science fiction phenomenon.
This May Star Trek hits the big screen once again taking fans to a time chronologically before the setting of the original series with familiar names like James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock but new faces playing the characters as young men starting their career to, "boldly go where no man has gone before."
Whether a Star Trek fan or not an event took place last weekend on April 11 that would make anyone proud and wish for this movie to be a success. While on a pre-premier tour Director J.J. Abrams and the cast of the new movie took an unexpected stop in Kuwait visiting Camp Arijan, a US military base to premier the movie for the troops and spend the day visiting with our best and bravest.
Director J. J. Abrams stated, "It struck us that there was an opportunity to not just have it be about the movie, but to have it be about something that’s more important than all that stuff…It’s an honor to come here to say hi and shake hands with the people who protect us."
It is good to see that there are some in Hollywierd who not only respect what our troops do in defense of liberty and this Nation but are willing to show their appreciation through their talents and their time with this special premier and visit in Kuwait. As Bill O'Reilly would say J. J. Abrams and the cast of Star Trek are Patriots.

NOTE: Star Trek opens Nationwide on May 9, 2009

I did not know this,... Talk about just shocked that any Hollywood entity would even try...
Kudos to Mr. Abrams ...
That's wonderful, Ken. Thanks for letting me know. Walt is a huge Star Trek fan! Me, not so much, although I have nothing against it. I think I got burned out on it, because I used to really love it. I do love the fact that Abrams and cast are patriots though. :)
