YoU cAn'T mAkE tHiS sTuFf Up - DES MOINES, Iowa — Some think the idea should have been dead on arrival. But the Iowa House has approved a bill changing the name of the Department of Elder Affairs. If the legislation is signed by Gov. Chet Culver, the agency will be known as the Department of Aging — or DOA.


Rep. David Heaton is one of those who isn’t too happy with today’s vote. He’s offended by the acronym for an agency that helps elderly Iowans. Heaton, a Republican, says: “I understand it. I don’t like it.”

But Rep. Janet Petersen, a Democrat, says the name change was meant to comply with terminology used by the federal government. She suggested not using an acronym. The Senate has approved the change. Culver hasn’t taken sides, but now it’s up to him whether the proposal lives — or is DOA.

YoU cAn'T mAkE tHiS sTuFf Up - BROWNSVILLE — A South Texas mayor became so concerned about reports of a Great Dane being stuck on a second-story balcony that he alerted emergency workers, went to the location himself, scaled a fire department ladder and entered the apartment to help the dog. The problem was, the dog wasn’t in distress. The bigger problem came when the surprised dog owner found Mayor Pat Ahumada standing in his kitchen Tuesday.

“He broke into my house,” the owner, who asked not to be identified, told the Brownsville Herald. “My dog is very well taken care of. He shouldn’t have done that.” Ahumada, a dog lover whose zeal for the animals has caused problems before, said a local TV station called him to say a dog was stuck. Ahumada called animal services, the fire department and the police.

“He looked to be stuck on the balcony,” Ahumada said. “I didn’t know the condition of the dog or if the building was abandoned. ... The animal’s paws were hanging out from the railing and he was struggling to get up.” The dog’s owner explained that the 14-year-old dog has little mobility, and one of its greatest pleasures is passing the day on the balcony where it can watch the passing traffic.

Who cares that Obama's agenda is taking the country down the tubes and making the largest deficits in history with no money to pay for ANY OF IT ! He obviously doesn't care !

YoU cAn'T mAkE tHiS sTuFf Up - FALMOUTH, Mass. — A customer shopping at a Walmart in Falmouth told store workers he found 10 human teeth in a wallet he was about to purchase. Police said the man found the teeth Saturday when he unzipped a compartment in the wallet. One tooth had a filling. The customer turned the wallet and the teeth over to employees but left the store without giving his name.

Police investigating the incident told The Cape Cod Times that the teeth belong to an adult, but since there was no blood or gum tissue on the teeth, they would be unable to perform DNA tests. A Walmart spokeswoman said the company believes it was an "isolated incident," but will investigate.

Wall Street tanks after EVERY Obama economic announcement or action. Of course he isn't concerned because watching Wall Street numbers is only like watching political polls.
