IRAQ SUCCESS SPLITS DEMOCRATS
In a very telling interview with the Washington Post, House Majority Whip James Clyburn, who unfortunately is from my state of South Carolina admitted that a positive report in September from General Patraeus would, "split Democrats in the House and impede his party's efforts to press for a timetable to end the war."
Is this arrogance or what ? A member of the Democrat leadership actually has the gaul to admit without hesitation that success in Iraq is bad news for Democrats. Cyburn went on to say in the interview in reference to the Democrat , "Blue Dog, "caucus, "I think there would be enough support in that group to want to stay the course and if the Republicans were to stay united as they have been, then it would be a problem for us."
There has never been a more obvious admission by Democrats concerning their true intent and view on Iraq. They not only do not want to see victory and have an agenda for surrender but good news out of Iraq IS a detriment to their party and their agenda. This admission combined with a New York Times story that ran yesterday stating that Iraq is improving so much that even critics believe that,"we can win, " is bad news for Democrats and their surrender agenda.
Democrats are afraid of the indications that are coming in anticipation of the mid September report coming from General Patraeus which is shaping up to be very positive concerning the situation in Iraq especially in light of the recent surge in troop strength. The fear from Democrats is that the positive indications that are appearing prior to the report will whittle their surrender coalition down and prevent them from their continual assault for surrender and withdrawal.
This in turn will put them in a bad light with the left of the party and the Move On . org crowd who are driving the Democrats liberal agenda and in whom Dems are beholden to. This combined with recent polls that show that the American people are looking more favorably toward Iraq and that a large number believe that the surge is working places another detriment to the belief that Dems believe they were elected on a mandate to pull out of Iraq.
Democrats have long shown in their agenda and their continual wasting of time pushing for withdrawal measures that have no chance of over riding a Presidential VETO, have never been interested in success or victory only body counts and bad news from Iraq which in their minds bolsters their move to force a pull out. Now even their body count method in coalition with their cohorts in the MSM is showing signs of breaking as July had the lowest death toll of American soldiers in months.
Every indication and legitimate report coming out of Iraq is showing that the surge is working, security is much better, Al Qaeda is on the run and the country is experiencing better stability with each passing day. All in all good news for America and bad news for surrender driven defeatist Democrats.

Meanwhile, the surrender now wing is preparing an all out attack on Petraeus in September.
If progress continues for the next six weeks as it has these last six weeks Petraeus will bring a good report.
Then we will have the spectacle of watching the isolation of the defeat, surrender and withdrawal crowd by members of the Democrat Party who realize that these people will take the party down to defeat in 2008!
It will be fun to watch!
Mike, the implosion begins. I knew that soemwhere along the line the Dems strategy would blow up on them and it looks like that time has come.
08 is looking better every day!
Well at least this idiot had the nerve to admit that the Democrats NEED a defeat in Iraq to score political points.
Agreed Marie, but the arrogance it takes to admit they want defeat is beyond belief....that is except when you realize its a Democrat!
Yeah, now would be a good time for a strong Republican candidate to start championing the successes we have seen an promise to carry us through to victory.
Then, when the report is positive and the fracture starts to appear, drive a solid spike wedge right into the heart of the cut and run crowd.
Ken, I am clueless as to what the dem strategy was except for the 8 proposals to raise taxes.
We msut stop them in '08. They haven't changed a bit since 1976.
What the hell is it with all these cleavage shots of Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi?
I mean is this crap really necessary?
That was cleavage? Oh, sorry I didn't catch that.
I know cleavage Senator, and that. ma'am, was no cleavage.
What cleavage??? I've been busy. I think I missed it. I'm so grateful! :)
They may as well admit their only agenda is for us to lose in Iraq. After all, congress has accomplished zilch. They've been nothing but a waste of taxpayer's money.
