So as Democrats in the Senate introduce yet another plan to pull out the troops, let's see I believe this in number 17 and running, just exactly WHO are they really supporting. They say the troops but.........
The Democrats idea of Capitalism. Support the Unions, bleed business, tax employees, regulate industry and of course hold hearings on ways to slap a, "windfall profit tax, " on the oil companies and anyone else who actually thinks that making a profit is why you get into business in the first place!
An entire week has gone by and believe it or not no one has announced that they are running for President in 2008. So how many of you are really excited about the prospects ? Do I hear a collective HO HUM ? The only question I have at the moment is a paraphrase from the title of an old sixties sitcom called, "Car 54 Where Are you ?" My guess would be that PJ is one of the following: A reject of the Weather Underground, a washed up hippie with nothing to do except troll conservative sites from the unemployment office, or a child who skips class at Yale to do this. Only those truly clueless make statements such as "BTW since you are so gung ho about war why is it your not over there for your righteous cause?"
PJ, just for your information, I proudly wear an assortment of ribbons on my Marine dress blues, among them the Combat Action Ribbon and Meritorious Unit Citation from Gulf War I. It is only age and body mass that keeps me from going again. I have been unde fire, know the fright of people trying to kill you, and totally support this action.
I don't know why I bother. Trolls care nothing for debate or even civil discussion. They are so angry at the world that they focus in on Bush because there is nothing else.
The troops will be withdrawn in an orderly fashion - such as rightwingers can't even conceive. Stay tuned.
Am I remembering wrong? I know I'm getting old but I seem to remember the democrats screaming about how our soldiers were underfunded and didn't have nearly enough body armour.
Now they are screaming that the soldiers apparently shouldn't be equipped at all.

As for the republican field, pretty dreary indeed.
Mudkitty, Purple Jesus and other members of the liberal bumper sticker set speak from the spoiled position of having other people die so that they may enjoy freedom of speech.
That's a pretty cool position to be in -- hide behind your tough and ready defender and spew rhetoric over his shoulder. One day, if you folks have your way, said defender will have his teeth and claws removed, and then you'll find your right to freedom of speech a thing of the past, along with most of your other freedoms.

I severly doubt the liberals of our country can really fathom the concept of an immoral government who would kill and torture them and their families for dissent.

None of those things will prevent Newt from competing. Geesh, you guys continue to elect a drunk that killed a woman in a DUI accident and covered it up, we can certainly elect someone who had an affair.
He can compete, but he won't win. The fact is that he is simply not supported by enough Republicans, nor will he be. He was ousted as Speaker by a Republican uprising. If he couldn't secure the members of his caucus, there is no way he can win the nomination.
