DEMOCRATS AND THE TROOPS!

Borrowed this from, " Maries Two Cents, " and thought it very appropriate in light of the legislative move by the Dems in the House and the 17 plans by Dems in both the House and the Senate to stab the troops in the back!

I love this cartoon! I had it posted it on last week's Fractured Friday post. I lifted it from Abouna's blog. (He's the one I refer to as "Reverend" on my blog.) Stabbing the troops in the back is exactly what the idiots are doing!

Pure BS. Both the cartoon and the above comment.

The only people stabbing the troops in the back are the Bush administration and the people who support the Bush administration.

Congress recognizes how badly Bush has botched Iraq and the treatment of our troops (e.g., Walter Reed fiasco). It is now working to put limits on our open-ended Iraqi occupation. They are simply doing the growing will of the American people, and it demonstrates good representative government.

The knife should read "Bush." And you know what, it still wouldn't be funny. War and death are not funny.

Ken,

Doesnt that picture pretty much say it all?

Especially those in Congress that want to leave our Troops out there hanging, those Troops that want to finish the job.

I think that picture tells the whole story of Congress and thier 17th try to defund the Troops, and how the Troops portray them as stabbing them in the back.

Congress constantly undermines our Troops and emboldens our enemy's and the Troops have had about enough of this crap. And so have the American people who are now sorry for the votes they cast in November!

The majority of the American people want to leave Iraq within a year. That majority is growing - not shrinking.

"majority" Robbie? Based on what? Your fantasy?

Last poll I saw, Americans wanted to WIN, not LOSE in Iraq.

Do you and kitty litter even understand the difference?

I doubt it.

Mike, the name's "Rob" not Robbie.

I don't know of any American that wants to lose in Iraq. But, the reality is that Bush has blown it, and the Iraqis will have to sort out their problems.

From the latest NBC/WSJ Poll, 63 percent of Americans are against Bush's escalation (31 percent for).

http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/documents/wsj070705_March2007-poll.pdf

The latest USA Today/Gallup poll shows that 58 percent of Americans want U.S. troops out within 1 year. Only 13 percent were for sending more troops.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/polls/tables/live/2007-03-05-poll.htm

The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 56 percent of Americans believe we should withdraw our forces from Iraq and 67 percent opposed Bush's troop escalation.

Cut and paste the links and find the questions yourself. Or Go to realclearpolitics.com and see for yourself if the links don't work for you.

Please give a link your poll that shows that the American people are actually FOR the Iraq war?

We all want to win, but this is not a win/lose situation. It's a quagmire that was predicted, and predictable.

Even if we could win, which Bush's latest Commander, General Petraeus, said we couldn't win militarily, we certainly couldn't win, and haven't won, with these nitwits in office whom you rightwingers and republicans support. Frankly, you can't support the troops, and support the Bush Administration at the same time. It's one or the other, you can't have both.

Amazing that seemingly adults here are afflicted with the same things as my teenagers. They hear what they want, and if they say something long enough, they think it will become the truth.

Petraeus did not say that this could not be won militarily. He said it could not be won with the military ALONE, and there has never been a statement issued by anyone that they believed the opposite.

And the speak long enough part? It is that Iraq has been botched. Not only is America spoiled, but the military has spoiled them with success. We lost less than 300 in Gulf War I, despite the tens of thousands of deaths predicted by the left. We have lost less here than in most battle of WWII, and only (roughly) 1/20 of those in Korea and Vietnam.

America wants us to win, and you see the dems backing off of the stance of "Cutting off the war" because they don't want to pay the political price.

Heck, in my heart even I want the troops to come home next month. If I were asked, that is how I would answer. The fact is that they can't, and I don't want them home until it is won.

Everyone wants the troops home ASAP, that is a no-brainer. But if we leave an unstable Iraq, the consequences are unthinkable. There would be zero fear of American retaliation for any state sponsored attacks and if you thought the UN had no teeth before, Iran will be runnign blue light specials on nukes to beat North Koreas bargin basement prices.
Plus, with the idea of the Democrats running the war polls scares me. I know my friends and family, I don't want them in charge of this war.

If and when there is a withdrawal, it will be orderly. Get over yourselves, and stop peeing in your pants. The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.

Great cartoon that succinctly says it all.

Not only are libs and RINOs in the US Congress stabbing our troops in the back, but now even rinky-dink small-timers in state legislators are getting in on the act.

These losers are disgusting and, in my view, are guilty of at least "sedition by reason of stupidity" if not something more serious. In any case they embolden the enemy and while sowing the seeds of demoralization among our troops.

Like Uncle Rush says, the Democrats are fully invested in, and fully own, defeat in Iraq.

It's absurd to state that we can't win this war. The US Military is the finest and most capable that has ever been assembled. Due to political considerations our troops have been playing patty-cake with the enemy.

At the extreme end of available military options Iraq, Iran, Syria, and/or any other country involved can be made into a smoldering heap of radioactive rubble in short order. Realistically, at least at this point, this would cause more problems than it would solve, but the US Military has several other levels of response at its disposal.

The only thing in question is our political will to do what is needed and how far the troops will be allowed to go.

So you're goal is to turn the middle east into a smoldering heap of rubble...

That's going to get you guys a long way

I usually don't respond to inane and assinine posts, but I feel the urge to make this point.

There is no goal to make the region a "smoldering heap of rubble", but the world should be grateful that we didn't. America's response to 9/11 was remarkably restrained and responsible.

Had we done so, we wouldn't be having these debates about Iraq and Iran.

And maybe the trains would run on time.

And yes, the American people, and the rest of the world is grateful that YOU, not WE haven't yet turned the middle east into a smoldering heap as you advocate.
