We have heard the cries from the liberals and the calls for man to stop killing the planet through the release of CO2 gases which they claim is the direct cause of Global Warming. According to most of those who accept this theory Global Warming is the most dangerous problem we are facing today including the threat and actions of Islamic radicals and the terrorism they perform killing thousands.Let us then take an evidential look at the facts concerning the effects on mankind of Global Warming and the Terrorism. To do so we must first take the worst case scenario of Global Warming as it stands today and accept the claim that we are in imminent danger from Global Warming. Let me also state that I do not accept that man is the cause of the global climate changes that we are experiencing and that it is caused from a natural cycle that the earth has gone through before, including changes occurring in the sun which have brought spikes in its intensity.
So accepting Global Warming as a fact several questions in comparison to terrorism come to mind. Has Global Warming caused the collapse of any buildings ? Has Global Warming hijacked planes and flown them into buildings killing both passengers and the inhabitants of the buildings ? Has Global Warming decapitated anyone ? Has Global Warming held anyone hostage ? Has Global Warming attacked any country such as Israel ? Has Global Warming threatened the world with annihilation and called for the destruction of The United States and Israel ? Initially the case of the dangers of Global Warming posing a greater danger than terrorism looks fairly weak.
The main concern that has sparked the Global Warming frenzy especially in light of the recent UN findings, is that the temperature of the earth is rising due to what is known as the Greenhouse Effect caused according to liberal experts by man made CO2 gases from vehicles and industrialization. This rise in temperature is causing the Polar Ice Cap to melt which is causing the oceans to rise. Additionally the claim is made that the higher temperatures are directly responsible for the increase in both number and intensity of Hurricanes.Now for every scientific evidence that backs this theory there is an equal amount and in many cases more evidence debunking it especially in showing the selectivity of the Global Warming school of thought. Hurricane experts have emphatically denied the Global Warming connection and show a natural cycle in the Hurricane activity. But for the sake of our comparison we will use the liberal Global Warming evidence.
Certain records show by their standard that Alaska's temperature is rising at a rate of .07 - .08 C every ten years . Observational estimates are that the rise in sea level due to rising temperature is about 1 mm per year over recent decades. The percentage of Ice Cap melting varies according to which Cap and who is gathering the information so stating it in a concise form is not possible. Suffice it to say that according to liberal estimates and the Global Warming enthusiasts it is melting. Again for each of the statistics that are mentioned here there are evidential stats that counter and debunk their claims. But again for a comparison to terrorism over ten years we will accept the stats.
In the past ten years just taking into account the worst terrorist strikes that caused the deaths of 100 or more since 1997 there have been 28 major attacks resulting in the death of 6947 innocent people. This number does not include military personnel who have died as a result of terrorism just civilian deaths. The attacks have ranged in location from New York and Washington to Manila, Philippines and everywhere in between.
For liberals who wish to scare the world into believing that the fantasised theory of the end of the world through Global Warming is a far more dangerous problem than the murderous and intentional acts of terrorist and the Islamic radicals who make up terrorist organizations and states is such a ridiculous contention that it boggles the mind. Terrorists could care less whether one believes that they are in danger from a rising sea or a .07 C change in temperature. Their desire is for all who do not believe in their radical view of Islam to find death at their hands through major attacks like 9/11 or the attack of a lone homicide bomber in a market square. Regardless, their wish is for our death liberal or conservative, Global Warming fanatic or the common Joe trying to earn a paycheck from week to week. And that my friend is a far more dangerous threat to mankind than true or perceived Global Warming!

I agree absolutely Ken, and I believe it is also absolutely ridiculous that we have to point out the obvious. The fact that terrorism poses not only a larger threat than global warming, but also an "immediate threat" is more obvious than the nose on Al Gore's face! Global warming will happen to a certain degree whether you and I drive a pillbox powered by electricity or not. Terrorism is happening now, and if we put our collective minds to it, it can be stopped. Problem is I said "minds" and I'm not certain the left has anything "left" to work with in that area.
Well said Gayle. The GW fanatasism is PC at its worst. Claiming the danger more than continual attacks and deaths by terrorism with a science that has as much debunking proof as selective stats as presented by GW enthusiasts is a danger because of its use to fluff off terrorism.
Well Vern, the tune of the UN reports has changed significantly in the last two decades. We don't deny climate change, but refuse to accept the political correctness of catastrophic climate change.
There is reasonable science that shows the Al Gore cries of "the polar ice caps are melting" followed by video of a glacier breaking is proof of adjustment, not of melting. The alternative science shows evidence that we are actually coming out of a cuclical icing period, and the shelves are breaking because they have grown too far over the centuries. The Danes once farmed land that is now ice sheets. That shows that much of the frozen land was actually warmer, centuries ago.
No one denies climate change. However, there are normal changes that msut be explored. After all, Global Warming does not stand up to the scientific method of Observation, Hyposthesis, EXPERIMENT. According to theory, there should have been many catastrophic hurricanes to hit the US this year, and none did. Just last week, record snowfall hit the Northeast US. The research and testing has not proven the hypothesis.
Or do you posit that cold temperatures and snowfall prove that man is heating the earth to our doom?

Good point Robert. Vern one additionaly fact that shows the selective stats by GW fanatic.
Greenland which is one of the GW crowds main proofs of GW. Accordign to GW crowd it has melted significantly and is in danger of causing a massive rise in the sea. Now the truth is that their measurements are taken ONLY from the Northern part of Greenland which is melting to a degree. The Southern half which is NOT considerd in their caculation is actually growing and the entire mass of Greenlland is actually larger that it ever has been.
The UN report is a calamity in that the conclusion was issued before the statistical findings. The conclusion was issiued by the political wing of the UN climate committee then the issuance of the report was/is being adapted to match the conclusion that was issued a few weeks ago. Most of the actual findings in the real report havd and are being changed to match the statement released immediatly after the conference.

Here in Minnesota, where we have recently had a near record number of consecutive days with below zero temperatures, we would welcome a little global warming right now!
Since when has the climate of the earth been static? In some of the coldest places on earth we find fossil evidence of tropical animals and plants that came and went long before man was ever on the scene.
There are too many variables and complex interactions involved that determine the climatic condition at any given place over a given period of time to create a definitive climatic model. As such humans can't even consistently predict the weather for more than a few days out.
Considering that man can't selectively make it rain to relieve a drought, stop the rain to alleviate flooding, or defuse even the weakest tornado or hurricane it seems quite a logical jump to state that human activity swamps the influence of all of the other factors involved. In fact, common sense suggests otherwise.
Additionally, when one considers who are the beneficiaries of political and/or monetary gain if the policies proposed by the global warming hystericals are enacted my level of skepticism goes up much more than any local air temperature.
Ok, not that I don't agree with your point of view, but PLEASE, if you're going to write something, at least get your main point correct. No one is stating that "CO2 gases" causes any damage - Carboon Dioxide is what we exhale and our plant life uses for life. It's "CO" gases - Carbon Monoxide - that contributes to the greenhouse effect.

liberals look at most facts and research they are the scientists for you the view on global warming is a controversy there are thousands to set this view exon pays anyone who can credably go against the research on global warming any second the name is controversy global warming does more than just warm things up it move persperation to other areas what controls the climate in most areas water. Yes water it heats things up and cool things down depeneding on how much you have and at what state. Ice reflects the sun water holds in heat if an area gets a drought the water goes somewhere and mostly causes a flood. Many people have used this contrversy to rebuke global warming and frankly mankind just dosn't what to here that they are responsible for the world whether they like it or not they are. But my point saying liberals use facts and trying research that have accumulated over years yes you can easily dismis those findings and piont to research that says the opposite but only if you take it out of context. OK let me say this first: I'm a Canadian. I consider myself a liberal-conservative. I'm a little more right wing than left, so I'm open minded like a liberal, but not so openminded that I embrace retarded ideologies. Global warming is a bunch of crap. I'm a scientific man by nature, I hold 2 university degrees, neither of which involves the environment. And I have been exposed to US politics now for about a year, as well as Canadian politics for the last 27 years.
Al Gore was recently presented an honourary PhD in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This doctorate is full of crap. No people in Canada are more liberal than the people in Quebec. In reality, Al Gore's argument for global warming is the exact opposite. Watch the video "The Great Global Warming Swindle" and you will understand. He is full of crap. He preaches to everybody about being green and cutting back power consumption and pollution. Yet his estate in Tennessee consumes more than 20 times the amount of power than the average North American household. 20 TIMES the amount. Is this a man who should be pissing on everyone to be green? I think not. His credentials are incredible (as in ludicrous), and I think that people who believe him are liberal sheep. Gore's typical liberal philosophy is as follows: Do as I say, not as I do. Enough said.
ehm, "Michael".. CO2 is a greenhouse gas, and is the one of main concern. CO is a little bit different, it is dangerous to humans because it replaces O2 in the blood through the lungs. CO2 on the other hand is something else, it is, as you stated, the gas we breathe out and it is not dangerous in any way.. And this is the fun part, just imagine how much CO2 is released from every single animal, the forests, and most of all the ocean, and then add human activity. To think that we affect anything is at most a folly attempt of humans trying to put themselfes in the position of God...
