LIEBERMAN UNDER FIRE FOR BACKING BUSH AND WAR

The Democrats prove once again that if you disagree with the party line and have a mind of your own you are not welcome ! Senator Joseph Lieberman, (D Conn.), is coming under fire from the national level and within his own state for his stance favoring the war and supporting the President's policy for Iraq. Tuesday Lieberman blasted his party for their defeatist attitude when he stated, "It is time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge that he will be commander in chief for three more critical years, and that in matters of war we undermine presidential credibility at our nation's peril." Strong words that were right on the mark concerning the left's attack campaign against the war, the President and our troops. This brought harsh criticism from Howard Dean the DNC Chairman as he claimed that the party was unified on its stance against the war and singled out Lieberman as the exception. In Connecticut, the Governor is urging an anti-war Democrat to run against Lieberman in the 2006 elections and party officials met specifically to discuss what to do about Lieberman from the state level. The Senator has shown that the country comes before party politics and that his job in the Senate is to vote and speak his conscience not liberal dogma. The majority of the Democratic Party is only concerned about power in Washington and taking the Senate and the House in the 2006 elections. Lieberman's vocal opposition to the retreat and defeat stance that his party has taken damages their chances at convincing the American people that they should be in power and shows the parties partisan politics for what it is. His stance proves that to a liberal the good of the party is more important that the good of the nation. I hope that the people of Connecticut have the good sense to listen to Lieberman instead of the Democratic Party when November 2006 arrives and the time comes to re-elect this man of conscience. Though I do not agree with much of his domestic belief, which is to the left, Lieberman is a breath of fresh air in a party corrupt with the lust for power at the people's expense!
