ISRAEL, LEBANON AND THE FUTILITY OF THE UNITED NATIONS.
The United Nations Security Council has been meeting to decide how to respond to the conflict that is raging between Israel and Hezbollah. Surprisingly Secretary General Kofi Annan actually came out in a speech before the Council condemning Hezbollah and stating that the organization is holding Lebanon hostage. He then went on to state in the usual Israeli condemnation manner that Israel in having the right to defend itself, ( this was also surprising coming from old Kofi), is using excessive force in doing so. I suppose that those including the U.N. who are condemning Israel for its legitimate and appropriate military response to being attacked by hundreds of missiles designed and used for no other reason than to kill as many Israelis as possible expect the right to defend to mean take far more than you give. Israel is in the process of destroying Hezbollah's current capability to continue attacking and its future capability of receiving aid in the form of weapons from Iran and Syria. The U.N. is continually seeking a way to broker a cease fire and to enforce the same. How can anyone even those within the U.N. who are currently debating this actually expect this corrupt and useless organization who has failed since 1978 in Lebanon to find any solution and then enforce it ? The United States U.N. Ambassador John Bolton has stated several times that he has yet to hear anyone suggest a way of getting a terrorist organization to accept a cease fire and expect them to honor an agreement. The reason that this has not found a suggestion is simply because Hezbollah or any other terrorist group do not recognize nor honor any agreements or negotiations or cease fire as anything but weakness and victory which only emboldens them to continue with their terror tactics. The only way to deal with any terrorist entity is to kill or totally dismantle their ability to fight which is exactly what Israel is doing and will continue to do. Additionally as I have mentioned before the United States and other Israeli allies should take this opportunity to do exactly the same in Iran and Syria to destroy their continued sponsor and supply of terrorism.
To further emphasize the utter uselessness of the United Nations the Human Rights Commission announced yesterday that they were considering investigating Israel for, "war crimes, " because of the, "excessive force, " being used in Lebanon and the civilians being killed. Not once in this absurd statement was Hezbollah mentioned and their intentional targeting of civilian population areas to inflict as many civilian casualties as possible. Then what can be expected from U.N. delegates who believe as Hezbollah.
Iran has also stepped up their rhetoric as the Iranian wing of Hezbollah challenged and threatened The United States with World War III. Yet the U.N thinks that one can actually negotiate and reason with these Islamic fascists whose only goal is to destroy Israel and the United States first then the rest of western culture, die as a martyr and spend eternity with 72 virgins. Maybe if many U.N. delegates were offered 72 virgins they might accomplish.....naw nothing could make the U.N. relevant!

Well Ken, your fearless leader seems to have figured the whole thing out. You see, if Syria can just get Hezbollah to stop doing that shit we'll be all set.
You blithering numbskull, Bush (supported by mindless sycophants like you) has created problems in the Arab world with his misunderstanding of the dynamic and his ignoring the true threats to our (and the worlds) stability. The best case scenario is that we will spend decades undoing the damage he has done in the middle east, the worst case is far more grim. And the best you can do is to blame the whole thing on the UN.
Get your head out of your ass, you cretinous intellectual whore.
Hope I wasn't too harsh. have a nice day.
Well it seems that the liberal anonymous shows his true colors when first his main response to any type of intelligent exchange is name calling which either means he is related to Alec Baldwin or that in his superior mind that is the only means he has to communicate.
Next this liberal individual somehow sees that the world began in 2000 when Bush was elected and that he and only he is the cause of the world problems. It does not matter to this liberal individual that the current conflict is a result of years of appeasement to groups such as Hezbollah by people who believe that negotiation with terrorists works. It does not matter to this individual that Hezbollah and Hamas have been attacking Israel long before Bush even contemplated running for the Presidency, in fact well before he even considered running for governor of Texas. Both groups have been terror problems in the Middle East since the late seventies.
Also this name calling liberal individual believes that the U.N is the answer to everything. It does not matter that this corrupt organization has left a decades long trail of failures in every country that the U.N. has set foot in and that they have been in Lebanon with a force of 2000 since 1978, (again well before the Bush Presidency as a matter of fact beginning during a Democrat, Jimmy Carter), and has yet to achieve the first result from mandate after mandate.
But of course this matters little to this anonymous liberal because it does not involve calling a name or blaming Bush and the U.S. for all problems.

“The reason that this has not found a suggestion is simply because Hezbollah or any other terrorist group do not recognize nor honor any agreements or negotiations or cease fire…”
The UN is so damn corrupt and anti-Israel why don’t they just put all their cards on the table. Just get it over with. If they THOUGHT it would bring a cease-fire the UN would be dumb enough to give Hezbollah a permanent seat with veto power on the “Security Council.” (In quotes because the security council is a bloody joke!)
The UN cannot solve this problem. It can however be solved by Israel using all its military might to destroy the arms and missiles of Hezbollah. They can and should do everything in their power to protect their people and I, for one, will stand firmly behind them. My prayers are with Israel and her people. I have no prayers for Hezbollah or anyone that wants to help them and promote terror.
LBC TV (Lebanon)
They talked about all the casualties. In addition it is reported that 20+ people were arrested for giving info to Israel about the location of Hezbollah and their missiles.
Alalam (Iran)
Spoke up about the civilian casualties, actually in their words all those that died in Lebanon are being called “martyrs.” However, in great length they spoke about what Israel is doing but NEVER mentioned the fact that missiles were being fired into Israel!
IRIB (Iran)
No mention of Hezbollah firing missiles but they did their best to fit the phrase “barbaric acts” (referring to Israel, of course) into just about every 3 seconds. Then you say that what happens in the US doesn’t impact troops or the world. On Iranian TV they played the clip of people in front of the Israeli Consulate... in the US... with Palestinian flags protesting Israel with: “EVEN JEWS BLAST THE ZIONIST REGIME’S BRUTALITIES” at the bottom of the screen.
I am sure it is fun for Jews in America to make such statements, I wonder if they would say the same if they were living in northern Israel. I guess they assume they could just walk across the border, shake hands with Hezbollah, and all would be good. MORONS. It finally got to the point where one station stopped calling it “Israel” “Israeli Occupation Force” or the real name “Israeli DEFENSE Force.” They shortened it to “the death machine.” NICE.
So Anon, there is your world dynamic. Seem like reasonable people to me. (in case you didn’t pick it up… sarcasm).

..........Well Ken............
Obviously the UN is only as good as it's members. The US is a member and it vetos any attempt at honest criticism of Israel. The US weilds more power than any single other nation on earth (and has a veto power as a security council member) no UN attempt to resolve the Israel/Palestine or Israel/Lebanon crises ever gets off the ground because of US intrangence...it's protect "it's ally at all costs" (hardly an "honest broker" in the middle east.)
In truth the US position (giving Israel a free reign to massacre innocent Lebanese and destroy it's infrasture setting that fragile democracy "back 20 years" (to quote the IDF), can only be justified on the basis of a few possible wrongheaded world views.
1. Israel can do no wrong/any
wrong Israel does is justified.
2. Whatever Israel wants to do
must be good for the US (and
also for Israel - ignoring
difference of opinion within
Israel and the fact that
countries do
(under poor governance)
undertake actions which are bad
for their citizens.
Particularly if thanks to
a "benefactor" like the US they
face little or no short-term
consequences.
3. We don't care about dead
Lebanese, apparently even if
they are also Canadian or US
citizens (a racist view at
worst, or lack of empathy/human
compassion at best)- as they
are Christian, Druze, Shia,
Sunni etc. and we only care
about Israelis (so
long as they continue to buy
guns, bombs, Patriot missiles,
F-16s, F-15s and Apache
Helicopters from us).
In other words Israeli military aggression is only good for those who make guns/bombs, aircraft, missile defences, helicopters etc...funny how the Bush administration has such close links to Haliburton, Bechtel and other groups who unlike the people dying on the ground (in Lebanon and Israel) will ultimately profit from all this.
