SENATOR SHEEHAN ?
Senator Barbara Boxer, (D CA), stated today that anti-war mom Cindy Sheehan would be of more use if she stayed out of the political arena. Sheehan has been considering running against Boxer's fellow California liberal Dianne Fienstein and stated that if Fienstein did not filibuster the confirmation of now Justice Samuel Alito she, (Sheehan ), would run. Sheehan is still considering her options. But as for me, run Cindy run. Just think Cindy Sheehan as a Senator would be one less Democrat because Sheehan though claiming to be Democrat opposes many Democratic ideas. Secondly another liberal whaco in the Senate might be fun to watch. It strikes me as odd that Boxer who stands for women's rights and continually speaks out for the cause, wants to hold a fellow liberal women back and actually says that Sheehan is more useful as she is. So the truth comes out Sheehan not only allowed herself to be used by the left they now consider her theirs TO use! Liberal hypocrisy at its finest!

Non-issue for Democrats. Feinstein is not only hugely popular in California, but ultimatley Sheehan has credibility on only one-issue - Iraq. I say run also. Make Democrats focus and in the end she will get more publicity for the complete failure of planning for Iraq. This will hurt Bush and Republicans because Feinstein will cruise to victory.
I want her to run, I mean that would be such a great show. In the end she would lose, which would provide me with great personal gratification.
As opposed to hurting Republicans, not so much. It will only make the loonies ask why so many Dems voted to go to war.
It will also keep the conversation on national security. That is just fine for us on the right. For Dems to try and fight the Reps on National Security is like trying to fight to stay dry when you are swimming. You will only continue to stay wet, and sink.
Go ahead, bring it on.
We'll see in November. The majority of Americans want to get out of Iraq. Bin Laden is still on the loose. Of the 11 Iraq war vets who are running for Congress, 10 of them are running as Democrats. James Webb, Ronald Reagan's Navy Secretary, just announced that he is running as a Democrat against Senator George Allen in Virgina. Democrats will be fine on national security.
It is also clear that there is bi-partisan concern about the legality of Bush's warrantless wiretapping.
Unlike you, mdconservative, I don't actually believe there are any Americans who support terrorists and want to see this country attacked. I can look at what Bush has done and see clear incompetence.
Sheehan has decided NOT to run for the Senate. She said some nonsense that if she thought she could make a difference she would, but it looks unlikely that would happen!@#$#@!
It's on Drudge
And these war vets that the Dems are so trying to drag up to run for senate seats are beginning to see they are being used, and will probably pull out as the race get's closer.
No, I think the vets who are back know exactly what they are doing. Most are fed up with the way they are being used by Bush in a war that makes no sense. This is the position of the majority of Americans. Again, let's see in November.
Rally Rob? Huh, not the tone I hear around base. And to make sure let's go to someone who would give NO credit to Bush for any reason.
"...Imus asked Wallace: “Did any of these kids get into the politics of the war?” Wallace replied, by phone:
“Indeed they did. And I was astonished: Almost all of them, ... support the war despite the fact that it’s taken such a toll on them. ... we asked them flat out: What about should we be there? And the ones that are the most severely hit believe yes, we should have been there. They are not angry at the President, they’re not angry at the establishment. I promise you you’ll be astonished if you’re up that late on Sunday night.”

Ouch, that takes a fair amount of wind out of your sails, don't it. When you are right, you're right. When you try and speak for the US Armed forces, placing left words in their mouth you are wrong.
How SICK, he is amazed that men and women are proud to have served their country and made a difference. If it just took their time or their leg they feel the same? It is called being a patriot.
Let's see if I am proved wrong on Sunday.
