WILL 2006 BRING A TROOP REDUCTION IN IRAQ ?
Stating that there is no rush for a troop reduction, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, during a Christmas visit with the troops, repeatedly stressed the positive aspects taking places in Iraq and that more and more of the responsibility is being passed to the Iraqi government and Iraqi Security Forces. There have been several indications that a troop reduction is coming as early as January from several sources including General Casey the commanding General of all operations. There have also been several reports concerning the cancellation of planned troop rotations into the Iraqi theater. While this is great news and the truth of the tremendous accomplishments in Iraq are FINALLY making headlines even in the mainstream press, one has to wonder if the Democrats are seeing this in the positive light that it truly is. After all if the troops begin coming home because of a successful completion of their mission, what do the libs have to gripe about. Remember THEY have been calling Iraq a FAILURE and THEY have been demanding an IMMEDIATE pull out. They are also the political animals who have suggested that our troops are terrorists and that the military has virtually fallen apart in Iraq. Remember Congressman Murtha's , "hand to mouth, " comment ? One again good news for America is bad news for the Democrats.
